Rand Paul is apparently seeking an end run around Kentucky law by seeking a change in Kentucky GOP party rules to allow nomination by caucus instead of by primary.

Thus Rand Paul would not appear on the primary ballot for two offices. Instead, he would retain his Senate nomination by caucus and he hopes to win the Kentucky primary for POTUS.

Thus, if he lost the POTUS nomination nationally, he would likely retain his US Senate seat. I am no fan of the Paul family but, considering his overall record in the Senate and the unlikelihood of his getting the POTUS nomination, his remaining in the Senate is not a bad outcome. I wish something like that could be worked out for Marco Rubio who has proven to be a very valuable senator despite his old misstep on immigration.

I also hope (this is not personal towards you but applicable to all) that, as conservatives, we shall refrain from unnecessarily vitriolic comments at ANY of the essentially conservative candidates for the GOP POTUS nomination.

There are no Romneys and no McCains so far in this field. I felt free to attack Romney and should have felt free o attack McCain. If ever such a candidate is nominated by the GOP, I shall not vote for him/her. I shall freely attack such a candidate.

Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Rick Santorum and several other potentials are not our enemies. They are our friends. I despised Ron Paul but he is now out of politics. While Rand is, in some ways, a reflection of his father's libertarianism, he has clearly separated himself from his father, favoring strong national defense, firmly opposing abortion and also reaching out to other constituencies seldom engaged by Republicans. I am willing to give Rand Paul a fair hearing. I hope others will join me.

BTW, at the moment, I favor Scott Walker over the field, as a proven executive who has beaten the Left consistently like a drum. Ah, but this go round, we have an embarrassment of candidate riches to choose from. Hopefully, we shall make a collective choice very early on and not waste resources on intramural squabbling. All of the conservative candidates should agree to campaign their backsides off for the final nominee. Bring back Sarah Palin and a lot of those not running as well. The Demonrats have NO BENCH to advocate for Hillary other than the somewhat dangerous Elizabeth Fauxcahontas Warren. We have the deepest bench in history.

When, inevitably, Comrade George Stephanopoulas tries to attack GOP candidates for POTUS by demanding endlessly if they would support "discrimination" against "gay" "marriage," let the candidate ask Georgie boy whether Georgie's dad, a Greek Orthodox pastor in New York City is "discriminating" by refusing to preside over "gay" "marriages." What draconian government punishment would Georgie apply to his own dad? Ask him again and again and again until he shuts up and goes away.

Every last one of them supports immoral, unconstitutional “and then you can kill the baby” legislation. That’s just for starters.

So, while I’m thrilled to see you posting, my friend, I have to disagree with you on this. And probably most of FReeperdom too, but oh well.

Your friends here would rather talk about YOU! Do you have any idea how happy we are to see you join us? God bless you first of all! And, he has! So good to have you able to share your head and heart with us again! I marvel at your political wisdom and your all star experiences have formed it well. You know this country. Thank you so much for pinging me.

Now, whoo hoo! I whole heartedly agree with you on us conservatives keeping our dang chill on long enough to let a few things play out. If I understood one report tonight correctly, the first vote will not be cast until February, 2016. Hang up the pitch fork against our own bench and turn them loose for awhile.

Can we just imagine for even a minute what we can do with five or six, or seven of our stellar candidates lining up together against the global Hillary machine and her media for a few months. That is, if we don’t get worked over by them, first, and balkanize among ourselves and do their dirty work for them. For us to eat our own for the purpose of saving Hillary’s bankroll to do the same darn thing is a huge helping hand to the Left and certainly the sole assignment of the media.

Don’t we know they have their calendar out already, betting on how long it will take to get us to fracture?

I have been singing the same song and that we need to “Hold, Hold....HOOOOLD, until we see the whites of their eyes”, so to speak. We have every advantage with keeping our field on their feet as long as possible.

God bless them all! And keep good care of yourself, Black Elk! Rita.

There are no Romneys and no McCains so far in this field.

I beg to differ, if anything Jeb might actually be worse than both of them. Immigration, education, plus the last name of a family that has lost so much for us as conservatives.

Rubio also blew it big time, and is not trustworthy.

How good it is to hear from our Freeperis Emeritus at last! I am so glad to hear your wizened voice in these pages once again, my friend. I very much hope that you are doing better now.

I also hope ... that, as conservatives, we shall refrain from unnecessarily vitriolic comments at ANY of the essentially conservative candidates for the GOP POTUS nomination.

I might give that plea short shrift coming from anyone other than you, but due to the deep respect and admiration you've earned in this community, I will honestly take your admonition to heart.

Praise God! Thank You merciful Lord!
Dearest Black Elk, I am so happy to see you here, I can barely read your words of wisdom!
My hands are shaking much more than usual.
I can’t recall the last time I was so happy!
God bless and keep you.
I believe in the power of prayer and you are living proof.
I must go get some ice water.
XOXOXOXO

I was surprised to find out just today, via a FR post of course, that Rand Paul has the most conservative rating for congressional voting, of all presidential candidates! This is according to the web site 538, which is not a Rand Paul sponsored web site by a long shot.
