CNN and Bumrungrad Perpetuate a New Fraud, Starring Morgan Spurlock

“Journalists” are Now Firmly Committed to the Profession of Producing Commercials for Crooks.

Just when one would assume that the American media mafia had no more room to stick their heads up their ass, a nouveau moron from CNN has added yet another piece of garbage to the stinking ship which was once a proud profession: investigative reporting.

In early February 2015, CNN (who Ted Turner founded and left because the network has become a not so laughable joke) hired Morgan Spurlock, a sub-clinical moron and failed movie maker, to drive another nail into the death of thoughtful journalism, into the American coffin of dead truth and into the minds of millions who will and want to believe that green grass still grows somewhere else. Take a look at the promo for his piece of propaganda: “Surf, sand... and surgery? Inside the world of medical tourism”.

I don't know if Spurlock is an entertainer, comedian, journalist, commentator or just a garden variety huckster. I don't think that CNN knows either, nor do they care.

Yep, I’d say he’s angry, heh. But I say bravo for swinging.

Spurlock did a good job with Supersize me, a film appreciated by people who dislike and see the perils of fast food, and big-Agra foods laden with pesticides, herbicides, anti-biotics, and increasingly bringing to market gentically modified foods that have not been adequately independently tested.

As far as medical tourism goes - his piece merely repeats what value concious higher income Americans have know for ten+ years. Namely, you can often get a much better price for certain medical procedures and treatment than you can in the USA. Our hospitals and medical community are under seige by regulation, malpractice suits, giving away treatment to the indigent, Obamacare, health insurance and Medicare under compensation.
Also, some large hospitals have become huge profitable enterprises.
I do wonder however, if something goes very wrong with a medical procedure abroad, what recourse does a US citizen have? Likely none, since a foreigner would have little legal standing in another country. Thoughts?

I have no problem with fast food, big agri, or genetically modified crops. I do, however, tune out modern day Luddites.

A relative of mine had a medical emergency in Thailand several years ago and got excellent care at Bumrungrad. Not sure what this guy’s problem is.

I’ve had very good medical care at a for profit hospital in Chiang Mai (Ram One) and less extensive but good care at a Christian hospital in Phrae. Bumrungrad had a good reputation among well off Thais and my wife’s Aunt was treated there after a stroke. There were no apparent problems. Chulalongkorn Memorial is connected with the university of the same name and, among Thais, it has the best reputation. It’s less costly than Bumrungrad.

Morgan Spurlock is an anagram for Morlock Pans Rug.

Is this guy some kind of undercover subterranean carpet critic?

Well, ignorance is bliss, and it is so much easier to consume without bother of thought.
I wish you and yours the best of health.

No worries, we evergrowing millions of individuals who Do want to know the truth of what we’re ingesting (informed consent), will continue to persuade the food industry to provide quality versus quantity of toxic agri chemicals and food scientist created artifical ingredients.
BTW: I have owned and operated a farm, and I know that it is possible to profitably provide organic crops by adopting responsible soil and cultivation techniques.

I believe you are right, there is no recourse. The author writes:

"Reader’s please note: the US Government has no jurisdiction, legally, to take any action on behalf of an American citizen for crimes committed against them in Thailand. Also, there are no treaties which govern international medical care. I met with two US Senators (Grassley and Baccus) to encourage legislation which would put in place protections for American patients should they be injured or killed abroad while receiving medical care. A bill has yet to be produced."
