Your desire for us is that we live lives of peace, avoiding anxiety and fear; and yet we confess that we live in a time and place where there is much that disturbs our peace. Help us, Father, to do as You have taught us---to cast our cares upon You, for You care for us. You show us that even the flowers of the field have no cares because You care for them. How much more do You care for Your beloved children? Lord, our hope is built on the blood of Jesus, His righteousness, and His finished work. We cannot fix the problems of this world, but we can bring our cares to You and lay them at Your feet. What a blessing it is to know that You care for us, Lord, and that Your protection covers Your people, Israel.
Surely You care for our military men and women as well. We pray that You preserve their going out and their coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. Father, we confess that You hear our prayers in the day of trouble on behalf of our troops, and that the Name of our God of Jacob defends them. You send help and strength to them, supplying all their needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Thank You for being the One True Mediator Who ever lives to make intercession for us all. Be exalted, O Lord, in Your own strength: so will we sing and praise Your power.
Lord, we are thankful for our resurrected Jesus; and we bless You, our Rock. May the God of our salvation be exalted both now and evermore. In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
Please join us in prayer.

The Nile of Africa, which spans 6,650 kilometers (more than 4,100 miles) and flows northward across several northeastern African countries, is the worlds longest river. Over the centuries, the Nile has provided sustenance and livelihood for millions of citizens in the countries it passes through. Currently, Ethiopia is building what will become Africas largest hydro-power dam on the Nile. It will be a great resource for the area.
Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, claimed to be the Niles owner and originator. He and all Egypt boasted, My River is my own; I have made it for myself (Ezek. 29:3,9). They failed to acknowledge that God alone provides natural resources. As a result, God promised to punish the nation (vv.8-9).
We are to care for Gods creation, and not forget that everything we have comes from the Lord. Romans 11:36 says, For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. He is the One who also endows humanity with the ability to manufacture and invent man-made resources. Whenever we talk about a good thing that has come to us or that we have accomplished, we need to remember what God says in Isaiah 42:8, I am the Lord; that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another.
INSIGHT
: The psalmist says, The earth is the Lords and everything in it (Ps. 24:1 NIV). Ezekiel underscores this point to the Pharaoh of Egypt. Pharaoh claimed to have created the Nile (Ezek. 29:3), but Ezekiel shows that God is angry with Pharaohs arrogant claim. God is the true Creator and He controls the beasts of the field and the fish of the sea (vv. 3-5).
