CHARACTER
A wise person once said, "You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing to him or for him." (author unknown) Columnist Ann Landers put it this way, "The best index of a persons character is how he treats people who can do him absolutely no good." In the Christian Scriptures, the Apostle Paul talks about entertaining "angels unawares." (Hebrews 13:1) What these writers are talking about here is more than an act. Its an attitude - about life, about people, and most importantly, about the dignity and worth of every person. Theyre referring to a life-cultivated habit of treating others with kindness, compassion, generosity and charity. Our true measure is best demonstrated by how we treat those from whom we have nothing personally to gain or lose, in the worlds sense, that is. Allow me to illustrate. Many years ago reporters gathered at a Chicago railroad station to await the arrival of a newly selected Nobel Prize winner. As the six-feet-four inches tall giant, with bushy hair and a large mustache, stepped off the train, anxious reporters gathered around him. Amidst flashing cameras, important officials extended their hands and voiced how honored they were to meet the Nobel Laureate. He thanked them and then, looking over the crowd, asked to be excused for a moment. With quick steps he walked through the crowd until he reached an elderly woman who was struggling with two large suitcases. Easily picking up the two bags in his big hands, smiling all the while, he graciously and attentively escorted the woman to a bus. As he helped her aboard, he extended to her his warmest wishes for a safe journey. Meanwhile, the anxious crowd had tagged along behind him, watching and taking in his every move. Turning to them he said, "Sorry to have kept you waiting." The man was Dr. Albert Schweitzer, the world-famous missionary doctor who had spent his life helping the poorest of the poor in Lambarene, Africa. Said a member of the reception committee to one of the reporters: "Thats the first time I ever saw a sermon walking." CAPT Jane F. Vieira, CHC, USN

Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.
Psalm 130:7 & 8
On this day that so many of us are praying for our country, so many of us fear for her
. I ask ALL of us to keep into perspective that God STILL sits on His Throne.

I am the
Lord; that is My name.
Isaiah 42:8
The Nile of Africa, which spans 6,650 kilometers (more than 4,100 miles) and flows northward across several northeastern African countries, is the worlds longest river. Over the centuries, the Nile has provided sustenance and livelihood for millions of citizens in the countries it passes through. Currently, Ethiopia is building what will become Africas largest hydro-power dam on the Nile. It will be a great resource for the area.
Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, claimed to be the Niles owner and originator. He and all Egypt boasted, My River is my own; I have made it for myself (Ezek. 29:3,9). They failed to acknowledge that God alone provides natural resources. As a result, God promised to punish the nation (vv.8-9).
We are to care for Gods creation, and not forget that everything we have comes from the Lord. Romans 11:36 says, For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. He is the One who also endows humanity with the ability to manufacture and invent man-made resources. Whenever we talk about a good thing that has come to us or that we have accomplished, we need to remember what God says in Isaiah 42:8, I am the Lord; that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another.
Praise the Lord God, the God of Israel, who alone does such wonderful things. Praise Your glorious name forever! Let the whole earth be filled with Your glory.
To God be the glorygreat things He has done!
: The psalmist says, The earth is the Lords and everything in it (Ps. 24:1 NIV). Ezekiel underscores this point to the Pharaoh of Egypt. Pharaoh claimed to have created the Nile (Ezek. 29:3), but Ezekiel shows that God is angry with Pharaohs arrogant claim. God is the true Creator and He controls the beasts of the field and the fish of the sea (vv. 3-5).

The Bathroom rehab is all over except for a little trim work. Mrs. MacNessa painted the kitchen and Foyer yesterday and today - she is totally exhausted.

Good evening, Pro...((HUGS))...a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Having a nice, restful weekend so far?
I got the cable hook up today. Now to find someone to get the second bed out of the room and downstairs, and put up 1 more grab bar and one more hand railing. Then the TV will be delivered, hung on the wall, and all set up on the 25th. I’m excited.
Last night I moved her chair out of its place by her window and today she just drove Reggie in that place. So no getting into and out of that chair, so no knee issues so far today.
Right now she’s back in her room taking a nap because Reggie is not the place to nap. BUT...this may be a good thing because her knees seem to work better after she’s been lying down. We shall see. Yesterday was really, really bad for her. She would have been glad to just give up and end it right then....and said so. After finally getting her out of her chair and into the bathroom to get ready for bed, the knees unlocked and she walked out of the bathroom just using the walker. Hallelujah!! She was out of her funk and pleased as punch.
So, getting the TV set up in her room gives her another option.
One day at a time.

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.
G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.
