Barnicle: Iran Deal 'Extraordinary Feat'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

For Iran, Mike? On today's Morning Joe, reliable Obama fan Mike Barnicle managed to keep a straight face while lauding the Iran deal as an "extraordinary feat." He did so despite poll numbers displayed showing that a huge majority of Americans don't think the ayatollahs will keep their promises.

Let's see: sanctions lifted while centrifuges keep spinning and nuclear scientists beaver away in hardened, bomb-resistant facilities. Extraordinary, yeah.

It’s time for this clown to retire. He’s lost touch with reality. Yo Mikey! Listen to the ayatollah. There is no “deal”.

It is an extraordinary feat - for Iran. Never before have they managed to get such a complete capitulation from the west.

I'm actually not too concerned about Iran "cheating" on the deal. What! Why? Glad you asked. ;-) I know, given their history it seems extremely likely that they will renege on the deal. However, this time the deal is so sweet, so skewed in their favor that they won't have to renege on it.

Well, at least for a couple of years there will be little incentive. By then Iran's burgeoning arsenal will be someone else's problem and bammy & crew will have yet another (self-proclaimed) "historic" accomplishment of his "historic" occupation. You know, all the sycophants promoting bammy's this or that remind me of the characters in movies etc. that are cariactures of the over zealous wingman shamelessly promoting his buddy.

In the sense that it gives the Iranians everything they want with no strings attached, yes, it’s an extraordinary feat!

If I had a dime for every time I’ve heard the words
“unprecedented” and “extraordinary” over the past seven
sucky years I could buy a seat at the Clinton Foundation
annual dinner where I’d get drunk and puke and piss all
over the head table.

It is an extraordinary feat - for Iran. Never before have they managed to get such a complete capitulation from the west.

Had Carter been reelected in 1980 I believe he would have completely capitulated regarding the hostages.

Still gripes me to this day the way that spineless worm left our people to rot be tormented for so long.

The only reason Obie gets the record is because Reagan was elected.

It’s extraordinary alright.

It has precipitated a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.

It has galvanized Sunni Arab states, who have now mobilized militarily against Shia Iran and its interests.

The deal simultaneously isolates Israel and Iran, thus the ME becomes the very definition of a “tenderbox”.

The “treaty” will have marginalized the US’s ability to influence decisions of ME governments. No one can trust us anymore.

Pretty extraordinary, yes.

Heaven forbid this scenario plays out..

Scarborough: Mike, Iran just nuked St. Louis. Millions are dead and millions more will die a slow and terrible death. What should Obama do now that his vaunted Iran deal is over?

Barnicle: Oh I don't think the deal is finished. Sure, St. Louis was wiped out, but who knows anyone in St. Louis anyway? It could have been a bigger city. What Obama has accomplished in this deal probably saved larger cities from states that voted for him. Remember, this is just the Ayatollahs playing to their base by nuking the Gateway to the West.

It is extrordinary because Obama will now be the president who finally enabled the final solution to the decades long palestinian problem
