Walgreens seems to be on every corner with CVS right across the street. They expanded rapidly with all that building it had to be costly. We tried to get some immunizations one Sunday afternoon. It was a fiasco. Either they were out of the vaccine or didn’t know how to process our insurance and actually did one incorrectly. We went to 2 stores and as we were about to leave and go to CVS the head pharmacist on duty came after us and said he found the vaccine and would take care of us. It was a 2 hour ordeal I think. Husband thought I had to have one vaccination before grandson was born or I would have said forget it!
“Manhattan is basically made up of bank branches, Duane Reades and Starbucks at this point.”
And Smilers. NYC’s 7/11..
Lol....true. Brooklyn, not so much. We had to walk ten blocks to the nearest Duane Reade. Now, if we’d of been staying in the city...there’d of been one right outside the door.
Our Walgreen’s sells tobacco and booze. In 2014 though they discontinued 1500 different over-the-counter meds and replaced them with Walgreen’s brands or not at all. Store manager said Walgreen’s Corporate office told her consumers would “get used to it”. There are at least four Walgreen’s in our suburban area within close driving distance. Wouldn’t be surprised to see at least one of them close.
Hallmark recently hung out their “going out of business” sign in our local strip center though. Is next door to what was a Blockbuster which is now a doggie day care or some such thing.
200 stores? That should cover about two neighborhoods.
