Nitrogen gas to kill somebody?

That’s kind of cold.

Back in ‘77 Gary Gilmore flat out said “shoot me” because he didn’t want to go through all the other crap.

That’s all they need to do.

"The process is fast and painless," said Oklahoma City Republican Rep. Mike Christian, a former Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper who wrote the bill. "It's foolproof."

LOL. Foolproof. I'm guessing this guy hasn't met too many prison officials.

I say take them to the local animal shelter and use whatever method they are using to put down the strays humanly on these murderers. If it’s good enough for stray pets, it’s good enough for this scum.

Necessary as the major pharma firms all now refuse to sell lethal injection drugs, under pressure from the EU. And the compounding pharmacists who were providing them now likely fear the legal gauntlet.

Maybe turn it into a mixer of nitrogen and helium so he can sound funny as talks himself to sleep!

I prefer they use helium.

I want to hear them make their final statement in a high squeaky voice!

A simple public hanging would be sufficient. As usual the mob and its ignorant “leadership” have overly complicated simple justice turning it into an emotional high drama complete with a rending of garments and scratching of the face.

Nice idea, but nitrogen asphyxiation will be challenged in the courts as being cruel and unusual punishment so it might be years before it could be used. However, using nitrogen for capital punishment would be relatively easy. Just have a cell reasonably air tight and pour in liquid nitrogen. The liquid nitrogen would quickly expand to gas and displace the oxygen. Unconsciousness would be almost instantaneous with death following in a few minutes. Because the air we breath is mainly nitrogen there would be no gasping or struggle.

Whatever method they use, maybe it needs to be done as public as possible as an object lesson to others thinking of taking up crime as a profession.

Maybe they should bring back R-12. It hugs the ground & displaces oxygen. Makes a heck of a refrigerant, too. Probably the best we ever had. Never did figure out how it got into the upper atmosphere, tho.

“In contrast, if you ascend rapidly, the nitrogen comes out of your blood quickly, forming bubbles. It’s like opening a can of soda: You hear the hiss of the high-pressure gas and you see the bubbles caused by the gas rapidly coming out of solution. This is what happens in your blood and tissues. When nitrogen bubbles form in your system, a condition known as decompression sickness or “the bends”, they block tiny blood vessels. This can lead to heart attacks, strokes, ruptured blood vessels in the lungs and joint pain (one of the first symptoms of decompression sickness is a “tingling” sensation in your limbs).”
