After a home for refugees in the town of Tröglitz was burned down on Saturday, Saxony-Anhalt Minister-President Reiner Haseloff warned that “Tröglitz is everywhere.” Speaking to Die Welt, Haseloff said, “We are talking about a nationwide problem.”

“The number of attacks in the whole country has risen sharply,” said the east German state’s most senior politician, cautioning that arson against refugee centers was something that had been seen in other federal states too. […]

In a survey conducted by the University of Leipzig to track the prevalence of xenophobia and anti-Semitism in German society, Saxony-Anhalt performed worst in comparison with other federal states, reports the Süddeutsche Zeitung.

The survey asked questions such as “When job opportunities are limited, should we send foreigners back home?” or “Without the persecution of Jews, would Hitler be considered a great leader today?” In Saxony-Anhalt, 42.2 percent of respondents agreed with the questions meant to test xenophobic attitudes. Bavaria came second with one in every three respondents agreeing with xenophobic opinions. The southern state also showed the strongest prevalence of anti-Semitism. …

Fearing takeover by those demonstrably hostile to your way of life is not un-natural or bad;that is,unless your way of life is based on murdering all not of your group, enslaving the world, etc.

“Tröglitz is everywhere.”

We had Tröglitz in our front yard last summer. A good, heavy application of Roundup took care of it, but there's no telling when it might come back.

That’s the kind of sentiment that people like Göring deliberately cultivated in Germans. Not unlikely that it is happening again, but this time on a Europe-wide scale.
The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.

It is not at all clear toward whom this xenophobia is directed, but by reading between the lines, definitely the quiet invasion of most of Europe by masses of strangers bent on substituting the law code they claim to honor for the existing order in these communities large and small across all of Europe is forming up into a cultural clash of gargantuan proportions.

Somebody, or many somebodies, may die before this is resolved.

My husband had a bad case of Troglitz after eating some sausage that wasn’t kept hot enough. Bad news, that Troglitz.
