California Water Authorities To Use New Tool In Fight Against Water Wasters (Smart Meters)
CBS News ^ | April 6, 2015

Water authorities are using a new tool in a major effort to crack down on people and businesses wasting water in light of new water restrictions issued by Gov. Jerry Brown to fight the drought.

The Long Beach Water Department says sprinklers at a McDonald’s restaurant on Bellflower Boulevard went on for 45 minutes at a time, twice a night, for an undefined number of nights. Complaints continued to mount as water pooled and wasted. The department, however, could do little about the wasting.

That was before the smart meter.

The days of wasting water are through,
When you Californians go poo.
Only one pull on the chain,
Or you’ll be in pain,
Cause Moonbeam is watching you.*

* Exemptions apply for limousine liberals, hollyweird celebs, illegal aliens, LGBT oppressed, and other key Democrat constituencies.

Hey Jerry! How about those millions of gallons of fresh water you routinely pump into San Francisco bay? Think maybe you could divert out to the Central Valley?

City block burns to the ground after smart meter detects excessive water usage and shuts-off flow to the area. Film at 11.

So, it turns out that all those crazy nuts who resisted having a “smart meter” installed in their home were not so crazy after all. They, along with others, knew the day would come when the government would begin to control the flow of essentials such as water, electricity, and gas.

You’re not green enough by California, or whatever communist state, and they’ll simply shut off your utility unless you go before some board and beg for more because of whatever need you have. And that board will determine whether your infirmed grandmother is allowed to heat her home a bit warmer than 65 degrees.

Pffft...

True!

Maybe 1 Toliet flush per day will catch these voters attention.

In a sane and rational world, you would just have to pay for the water you use.

Only government could manage to say "It's too hard" and make you cut back on the water you use.

Put those guys in charge of the Sahara and we'd have a sand shortage...

Brown needs to get his own neighborhood in order ... fast!

There are many properties in Sacramento that still don't even have a water meter ... of any kind.

The city reports they plan to have meters installed on 80% of the properties in the city by 2025 ... and those property owners are screaming that they don't want their water usage metered (I think they just pay a flat rate ... been that way for a century, I think.)

From Fox 40 News (March 2014):

During a historic drought, one would think water use would be heavily monitored, but 98,000 Sacramento-area homes do not have a water meter.

“Up until 2005, the city had an exemption in its charter for residential water metering,” Jessica Hess, with the city’s utilities department, said Wednesday. “It said that residential parcels wouldn’t be metered.”

In the City of Sacramento alone, there are 66,000 without meters.

After 2005, it’s been a mad dash to get everyone metered. The home Towanna Washington lives in is unmetered, for now. She pays her landlord a flat utilities fee. Within the next year, Washington says she’ll start seeing her own water bill.

“Wattier says he believes the smart meter will be used in both businesses and homes to track water waste across Southern California. “

There is a shower head that monitors flow. EPA has funded the distribution of 500 units to hotels hoping to expand the program if it passes the tests. Each unit will transmit data to a central location.

If it’s Brown, flush it down!

The Republican gubernatorial candidate in the next election in California just had his campaign slogan handed to him on a silver platter!
