My natural language is German. When I met my husband I could only speak a little English. Be the time my husband; who was in the service in Germany brought me to the states when he was transferred, I was able to speak, read and write English

My grandfather's birth certificate is not in English; he was born in a European country.

I never knew him to speak anything other than English, and without any noticeable non-American accent.
