Yeah, I had to laugh at that myself.

Like I said, if it worries you that much then you should consider an electric car that has a gasoline backup, like a Volt, Ford Fusion Energi, Ford C-Max Energi, or BMW i3 Rex.

We don’t have a stake because a political group decided to just let them keep the money to pay their pensions.

Yeah. We don’t have a stake in them, because we can never get our money back and have no leverage because we GAVE the money to them.

Just because someone speaks a propaganda point doesn’t make it true.

Nice, talking about me without pinging me.
That is a violation of forum etiquette you know.
People have been banned for that.

.
A gas powered car makes so much more sense, in every way, and costs half or less of what those electric sleds cost.

(and that ignores the Hazmat issues too!)

“...while implying that doing so is taking a moral stand of some kind against a nuclear-enabled Iran. You might gain more ears by being less strident. Just my opinion.”

I'm not making a moral stand. I'm presenting the benefits of a technology.

Grr. Every time I think of it, my temperature rises.

I did some research up here in Massachusetts back during the “stimulus”, and found that the stimulus money in just one single town that I researched, was being used to pay for health benefits for teachers unions.

Millions of dollars from the stimulus, in one of the wealthiest towns in the state, going right into the pockets of the unions to pay for health care for their teachers.

So I see what happened with GM as being the EXACT same thing. EXACTLY, and it burns me up.

Thank you very much.
God bless.

Golf carts, lawn greening, and office perks among other things as well.
Meanwhile, several bridges and roadways in dire need of TLC got neglected.
Infrastructure that actually matters ignored for the sake of “Scott’s turf builder”.
*snort*

I disagree. It sure sounds like a moral statement of the kind I am used to hearing from owners of the Toyota Prius and the like.

So, if I don’t buy an electric car, that means I want to fund Iran’s nuclear program?

Yep...I can hear it all now...

Sorry, Mr. Boss. I can’t make it to work. I’m waiting on the sun to come out so I can recharge my car.

.
And on many “stimulus” projects the required signage cost as much as the work.

Signage cost twice base cost in NY in some places “because, markup.”
(Gotta do business with the guys the pols steer you to, or else.)
I suspect a bunch of such “cost inflation and padding” existed everywhere the “stimulus” touched.
The gao admitted “we have no idea where all of it went” in many cases.

Of course not. That would be an example of fallacy of the inverse. Please don't put words in my mouth.

Want to defund Iran’s nuclear program? Buy an electric car.
....................................................

How will that help?

“That same generator can charge an electric car.”

Obviously, you have no idea what thermodynamics, energy efficiency, or even math is all about.

We are supposed to take your “technical opinion” seriously when you post total drivel such as this?

Go back to DU and your Obamadesk.

Thank you for the information. Since I am a trust but verify kind of person, I wish I had time this evening to do some research. But I don’t.

Two things...we import very little oil from Iran...at least today. That could change in the current climate. The Feds are doing their best to shut down coal mines.

I would like to hear from someone that drives a Telsa as to what it has done to their electric bill. No matter the source of the electricity. Is it a matter of pay at the pump o send your money to the electric company?

It really doesn’ matter..I can’t afford a Telsa. :)

You can see my profile page for a little more of an explanation, but the short version is that if the United States and Europe transitioned to plug-in cars, it would put oil exporting nations in the poorhouse.

My sister has one and I got to drive it. I’d highly recommend it for performance purposes. Acceleration cannot be beat. Range would be an issue for majority of people.
