Chelsea Manning Joins Twitter From Prison
NBC News ^ | 4 April 15 | Unattributed

Posted on 04/04/2015 11:28:05 AM PDT by LSUfan

Chelsea Manning, the transgender Army private imprisoned for exposing national security secrets, has joined Twitter with the help from a communications firm.

The company, Fitzgibbon Media, confirmed that it is handling Manning's account, @xychelsea, posting messages she dictates by phone and telling her about the responses.

Her introductory post went up Friday afternoon. She finished the day with seven more, thanking friends and supporters, expressing the effort it takes to Tweet by phone from prison, and promising "I don't want this Twitter feed to be a one-way street/conversation." By Friday evening she had more than 20,000 followers.

Manning revealed her gender identity as a transgender female while serving 35 years in the military prison in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas for leaking classified documents to Wikileaks.

The former Army intelligence analyst has said disillusionment with an American foreign policy bent on "killing and capturing people" motivated the release of the documents, including battlefield reports and diplomatic cables, to the anti-secrecy site in 2010.

A court ruled in March that the Army must stop referring to her as Bradley Manning and must use feminine or gender neutral pronouns in court filings.

We are one sick, screwed up society. Why are convicted felons allowed to join Twitter in the first place? This guy belongs in a rubber room not on Twitter.

Good questions. Why are prisoners given these special privileges??? What’s next? Charles Manson will start a blog and be permitted to do so???

Seems to me you lose certain rights when you are locked up.

The fag probably has a big following. He needs to be able to stay in touch with his fan club of morons while in prison. Retards are a dime a dozen in this country these days.

Change all of the thread references from “she” to “it” and the thread make’s sence.

He chose a cute name, “xychelsea”. He’s laughing at his liberal supporters, saying, “I know I changed my name to ‘Chelsea’ and I’m working on surgical mutilation, but I’m still XY in the chromosomes, I’m still a guy, just a soon-to-be castrated, treasonous guy.”

why Its using a poorly drawn “portrait” to identify itself on Twitter remains a mystery.

Can I ask a stupid question?

How is it, that a messed up traitor such as Manning, is not a bad reflection on the LGBT peoples? We are told we need to celebrate diversity and all that. Yet here is someone who has hinted that his problems stemmed from being “trans whatever”.

But then we are told that being “trans whatever” is normal and should not disqualify someone from the military or any other position.

I get so confused by this liberal politically correct world we live in.

The question of the day.

Most prisons require calls to be made collect. I don’t see how someone who is doing time for violations of the Espionage Act, and computer fraud, is given unlimited phone access to a communications firm, and allowed to have comments posted to an online twitter account. He, she, it has to be servicing someone at the prison regularly for this privilege.

He has over 30K followers already, thanks to heavy promotion by every left-wing group from Code Pink to Anonymous.

The idea is to celebrate traitors and sexual freaks... all in the continuing effort to destroy our military and country.

"Game.Ber when being imprisoned meant being seperated from society?"

Back in 1980 when I became a correction officer, we were told that prisons were for:

1. Punishment
2. Incapacitation
3. Protection of society
4. Rehabilitation
5. Deterrence

None of the above are being put to use in Miss Chelsea's incarceration.
