As always, leftist policies will thwart what leftists claim is their agenda.
Loss of ground cover will result in loss of topsoil. It will get very dusty, Mr. Nonthinking Governor. You will see destruction of “the environment.”
“And that will have national political implications because it could mean with a smaller population California, the state will end up with less Congressional representation than in 2010.”
With the way things are here right now, that would be a good thing! If agriculture takes a hit, the Mexicans will most likely either self-deport or move to states where they can find work, and construction would suffer as a consequence of the loss of agriculture jobs which would drive more of them away as well. All to the good, because the RATS would be loosing more of their base than the RINOs, and the rest of the country would finally figure out that we’ve been feeding them for the last three quarters of a century.
Now, if only we could figure a way to drive Hollywood out at the same time.
Then when that reduction takes place, the water companies will demand a rate increase because their profit fell below the minimum set by the utilities commission.
I haven’t heard of any place in California where it is illegal to collect water off your own roof. I have heard calls by some politicians in my area to make it mandatory to have rain barrows to collect water from your roof.
Not all of California has major water problems, but even those areas that did prepare and have enough water are still required to cut water use.
