Conservatives carried the chamber's water for decades.

This is how they're repaid.

No more.

Conservatives are anti Mercantile. Crony Capitalism is just the modern less respectable version of 17th Century mercantilism. A few merchants and some bankers get crazy rich for a time until some other country tries out real free market trade.

The Republican party is dead, deceased, room temp, and rotting.

And yet there continue to be clueless morons, even here on FR, who insist on voting R. Idiots...every single one of them.

>>conservatives are not anti-business. I have no idea what this nonsense is about.

When the CoC talks about “business” they ONLY mean big, multinational business. Small businesses where the owner(s) actually WORK are not their kind of business.

Real easy to counteract - pressure businesses to withdraw donations. Even the appearance of mass pressure will have an effect.

In the end they won’t get the cheap labor. The Dems will run on a $15 hr minimum wage to “save the middle class”, and when the labor market is flooded it will be a winning issue.

No need to buy it. Most of our elected GOP officials are so slutty they would gladly give it away.

“The group is already raising money for upcoming special elections in New York and Mississippi”

I think we had nine candidates qualify for Mississippi CD 1 by Fridays deadline, better than having the 15 or so that had announced. In a special election in Mississippi it is held as a jungle primary, all candidates will be on the same ballot, if no one receives 50% + one vote there will b a run off. I intend to support Henry Ross, I doubt either haley, henry, austin barbour or the Us Chamber will be sending him any money.

We’ve been creeping in this direction for years. The multinational corporations buy out the Republicans and the Communists have subsumed the Democrats. What we have is a synthesis of the two which is state capitalism, aka Fascism.

No. Won't happen. Too many conservatives cling onto the Republican party -- their own form of Battered Conservative Syndrome. Listen to the die-hards: 'we can reform the Republican Party from the inside.'

Plus there's no way to stop the same people who give us RINOs in the Republican party from sabotaging primaries in any prospective third party "Conservative Party".
