Turkey's Erdogan says can't tolerate Iran bid to dominate Middle East

(Reuters) - Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan accused Iran on Thursday of trying to dominate the Middle East and said its efforts have begun annoying Ankara, as well as Saudi Arabia and Gulf Arab countries.

Turkey earlier said it supports the Saudi-led military operation against Houthi rebels in Yemen and called on the militia group and its "foreign supporters" to abandon acts which threaten peace and security in the region.

"Iran is trying to dominate the region," said Erdogan, who is due to visit Tehran in early April. "Could this be allowed? This has begun annoying us, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries. This is really not tolerable and Iran has to see this," he added in a press conference.

There’s only room for one insane evil leader and he plans to be it.

Watch for John Kerry to accuse Erdogan of treason for speaking out against Iran while he’s negotiating an agreement. :>)

How long before Egypt, et al, starts bombing Iran centrifuge sites?? Do you think THEY want Iran to have nukes?? Hardly.

I'm trying to figure how the sides will evolve. Iran, Syria, the Kurds vs a Saudi-Turkey coalition that seems okay with ISIS existing outside their own territory? Where does Egypt fall? They seem to support Saudi now, but have a battle against ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood.

This is where I'm confused. There's the ISIS-beheaders vs the more traditional terrorists. Wouldn't it make more sense if they all just got it together and fought ISIS, Boka Haran and AlQaida?

“Watch for John Kerry to accuse Erdogan of treason....”

This BS “negotiation” is nothing but a political sham. Obama wants ANYTHING for a legacy. A total joke. Iran is going to do exactly what it wants to do, no matter what...excluding of course, the destruction of their nuclear capability. Pols and the MSM really seem to forget what the WORLD is dealing with in Iran. These are not mentally healthy people. Does anyone think they care about MAD strategy?

How many more underground HIDDEN centrifuge sites do they have?? The pressure is building big time.

Exactly, Erdogan intends to be the Caliph and isn’t going to let any Ayatollah get in his way.

Try understanding European history in the last 250 years by only looking at the context of various Christian sects. And Europe doesn’t even have real tribal wars like Middle Eastern Muslims. There are other factors beside religion.

No offense meant, but that is not exactly how the story goes. The chaos maker has pretty much done his job. Next on the scene will be the Mahdi, who will unite these warring factions.

Then the end will come.

When the Ottoman Turks were not fighting Europeans they were fighting the Persians.

I was listening to the radio and they were discussing our current relationship with Iran ....

We’re with them in Iraq.

We’re against them in Yemen.

We’re with them in Syria.

Doesn’t seem the administration can make up its mind.

“Doesn’t seem the administration can make up its mind.”

I think this so-called administration made up its mind quite a while back — to do everything it can to marginalize and degrade the USA in every aspect possible WORLDWIDE. With our allies, especially. Hard to tell if this is a grossly incompetent attempt at starting a large civil war in the Middle East or not...oh, wait...we have that now — sorta. With the demonstrated objectives of this administration, it appears to be a “shotgun” attempt to find anything that will stick to the wall in the way of “legacy material” without any significant involvement. If Obama can walk away in 2017, from a pile of ashes, with another Nobel prize, I think he would be satisfied. Most observers tend to agree when it comes to finding a purpose in this horrid mess.

I tend to believe he’s driven more by evil intent than he is by “legacy material” intent.

In 2009 they removed the prayer breakfast from the White House. It is now off the grounds of the White House. They now celebrate Ramadan twice per year in the White House.

I'd never heard the term Mahdi before, so I just researched it a bit. If Muslims accept this as a tenet of their faith, I'd suspect they're ready to accept someone claiming to be from Allah to unite them. What a monster Obama's meddling (nd to a lesser degree presidents before him) has created.

Thank you for upgrading my knowledge.

“I tend to believe he’s driven more by evil intent than he is by “legacy material” intent.”

I would certainly agree that applies in parallel here. His entire tenure has been very ORWELLIAN. Just one of the many adjectives that apply. All while we watch a dysfunctional and complicit Congerss allow it all to continue. Looking back at Nixon and Clinton, what they did to rate impeachment and Obama just continues to urinate all over the Congress and operate lawlessly with impunity.

Allow Iran to go forward with a Nuke, and Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and OTHERS will get it too, as night follows day.

Remember when Lefties were big on nuclear non-proliferation? They actually took the lead on it. Probably the only time they were ever right about anything. But now that the America-haters have a good chance for a Nuke, they’re less worried (how weird).

Obama wants ANYTHING for a legacy.

Yeah, some legacy, huh? A nuclear arms race in the Middle East, culminating in a war 100X deadlier than anything ever deen before.

I wonder what history will really say about Barack Hussein Obama?
