Federal Lawsuit to Force Release of Secret Pentagon Bergdahl Files

The sudden announcement of the charges Bergdahl faces, reinvigorated the sometimes fierce political debate that took place last year after the alleged deserter was secretly traded for five high-level Taliban prisoners from the military detention center at the Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, Marine base.

Equally controversial was a legal watchdog group’s announcement that it had already filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) in order to have a federal judge force the Obama-appointed commanders to release records regarding the U.S. Army’s review of the disappearance of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl while he was assigned to guard duty in Afghanistan.

...

His fellow soldiers including his platoon leader exposed Bergdahl as a deserter who left his post and cost the lives of several soldiers who attempted to find and rescue him.

...

former U.S. Marine and NYPD detective, Michael Snopes. “I’m betting — knowing how this bunch in the White House thinks — they felt desertion isn’t a big deal; and soldiers being killed or wounded was not worth depriving Obama of a great photo op,” Snopes chided.

In addition, the way the prisoner exchange went down also created intense controversy. The Government Accountability Office (GAO) reported that the Obama administration violated “clear and unambiguous” law in trading five high-level terrorist commanders for a single deserter without notifying the appropriate lawmakers. The GAO reported that: “The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2014 says that all prisoner transfers from Guantanamo Bay require 30 days’ notice to Congress. Such notice was not provided in Bergdahl’s case.”

...

The Obama administration lied and violated the law in releasing five terrorist leaders from captivity in exchange for Bergdahl, and is violating the federal open records law to cover its tracks.

No reason to laugh about that, that is exactly what he did and good men died because of it.

Another part of the Taliban 5 swap was a payment of $5 billion.

Interestingly that SAME amount of money disappeared from the State Department while Hillary was in charge.

It’s not PROOF, but given the habits of this Administration I’d say it would be very interesting to any worthy reporter.

WHO 6 years ago would believe the ATF would deal machine-guns to narcos specifically to generate grisly murder headlines..?

Who’d have believed a SINGLE WOMAN with a secret server and a “pop-up CIA” would run her own secret war..?
