And since this crash happened in Europe, involving mostly European victims on a European airline, there's little opportunity for families to file lawsuits in the U.S., where payouts tend to be much more generous.

i do not understand why location of the crash has anything to do with the payout... shouldn't it matter on the airline and its insurance company and what the families workout with them?

By now, insurance rates for airline companies that have muzzie pilots, must be starting to charge insurance premiums whose costs are going through the roof.
