An unapologetic conservative will get far more votes than someone who tries to be all things to all people.
It’s the opposite of leftism. There will never be an unapologetic leftist as a viable presidential candidate.
The closest that anyone in my lifetime got to that was Mondale, and look what happened to him.
Or as a say, why vote for Democratic-Lite when you can vote for the real thing.
