The French government has formally asked the FBI to assist in an investigation of the co-pilot of Germanwings Flight 9525 and of the plane's crash in France on Tuesday, a law enforcement official said Thursday.
Will the Germans also ask?

This is one of the two passengers already Identified. According to reports there is a 3rd who is also a government employee, who has not been identified.

That’s interesting. I thought it was pretty significant that the American woman was an aviation intelligence analyst and either a government employee or somebody employed by a government contractor (read about this in the WSJ but I don’t remember the agency or company). I wonder if she was traveling with some coworker in the field.

According to that article, a third US citizen has not been identified. Says nothing about the third US victim being a government employee....UNLESS there were two US gov employees on that plane...
Yvonne Selke and her daughter Emily, perished on that plane.

Whether or not I'm a pollyanna about that, I've got to say there's no better investigative service in the world. When the FBI has you, they've got you cold. Dead to rights. They don't give up and they will find out what's going on. No chance they'll be wrong.
Best spies are British SIS/MI-6.
