“out of the mainstream”
“Mainstream” means all the other kids are doing it. Rather childish justification for anything.
What is sacred about the “mainstream”, anyway.
Staying with the “conventional wisdom” is also probably the source of a great deal of mischief, particularly when the same unworkable “solutions” are tried over and over again, not because there is a better result likely, but because “that’s the way we always did it”.
One suspects there is a great deal of resistance against actually coming up with a solution, as that will destroy an assured dynamic that is a money cash cow for organizations and agencies that are invested in PRESERVING the inequity they claim to be in favor of ending.
