There is a wealth gap. And if it is “racial”, then it’s self-inflicted.
Nothing - absolutely nothing - is keeping blacks from following the tried and true method of success in America:
1. Get an education.

I agree completely. May I add a few additional suggestions:
4. Live within your means. Use credit cards sparingly and pay off the balance each month.
5. Find your faith, Christian or otherwise, and find others of like mind and worship with them.
6. Give as much as you can to causes you believe in.

I'd modify these a little:
1. Get an education, at least through high school
2. Get married and stay married
3. Have children with your wife and help raise those children.
4. Quit feeling sorry for yourself and playing the "I'm-a-victim" card.
5. Realize that the greatest free educational tool in this country is the military. Join and learn a skill that you can use after service.
Until there is evidence that blacks seriously want to work at solving their problems and clean up their own house from within, I think we should stop pouring federal dollars down this rat hole. Since the War on Poverty under Johnson, there have been trillions spent on blacks and they are worse off now than they were then. Enough's enough.
2.5 Buy a house with a fixed mortgage. And don’t get a cash out refi.

I’ve noticed that most blacks, HAVE to have that BM’er, or Mercedes, or Lexus. They also HAVE to have, the bling, wardrobe and accessories to go with it.
Image is what it’s about. When you live life like that, it’s no wonder most are either bankrupt or close. Nevermind the ones living paycheck to paycheck.
First job out of college I did loans. Oh the stories I have on supposed adults acting like spoiled toddlers.
I have posted this many times before. To avoid poverty you need to:
1. Refrain from sex until married
2. Refrain from illegal drugs, abuse of other drugs
3. Refrain from alcohol until you are of age
4. Refrain from gambling
5. Work hard at school
6. When you get a job work hard and try to improve yourself
7. Save money for emergencies and retirement
8. Avoid illegal activity
9. Do not become violent with the police or anyone else
10. When you get married, do not commit adultery.
Blacks and whites making the exact same income - with same number of children - have large wealth differences in wealth based on savings and investments..
And have at least one adult work full time.
Why were the schools poor, the neighborhoods bad, and why would banks direct qualified borrowers into risky mortgages?
The truth is the minorities themselves made the schools poor and the neighborhoods bad. And no reputable lending institution would steer a qualified borrower into a risky loan unless they were forced to. Which is what happened under the Clinton admin.
No forcing of lending institutions to create subprime mortgages for unqualified borrowers under the direction of the Clinton admin, and there is no financial crisis in 2007.
