I’ve heard Oregon has the potential to a decent functional state if they could carve out a hippie enclave which includes all of Portland and Eugene and lease it to China . . .
Oregon used to be quite conservative, or at least libertarian. A general philosophy of ‘You leave me alone & I’ll leave you alone.’ Now the nanny-state do-gooder types are thick in all the larger population centers. We’re thinking about moving, but this area is ideal for us. It’s really just...so...aggravating!
