Holy God,

So often we try to carry our own burdens instead of casting them upon You. How blessed we are to have a God Who wants to bear our load, our worries, our concerns, our trials upon Himself. You do this out of Your great love for us, Lord. We deserve none of Your assistance. We cannot earn any of Your help. These are gifts that are freely given to us----those precious treasures purchased for us through the atonement and available to all those who trust in You and believe in Your promises. Thank You, our God of blessing and comfort.

Father, we thank You for so great a love that You have for us. We ask that You help our military men and women to know and receive this beautiful love as well. Many of them are in situations of great danger. We ask You to carry that burden for them, Lord. Carry the burden of protection for their loved ones back home who wait for their return. Carry the burdens of their day to day lives in which they may be living in very difficult circumstances. Help them to know the blessed assurance that You are their yoke bearer. You know all that they need and Your mercies are new every morning.

Grant Your people Israel the revelation of Jesus Christ, that all may know the love of the Messiah and the redemption that was purchased for all those who believe. Father, we ask that people all over the world would pray for this beloved country and that the people of this nation would continue to stand with them as allies.

Forgive the sins of our nation, Father, and help us to return to You in every area of our lives. Save us from the sins of abortion and homosexuality. Help us to honor the truth of Your Word and the teachings You have provided us.

Lord, Your yoke is easy, and Your burden is light. We can only enjoy those benefits if we submit our burdens unto You. Help us to do so, Lord, that we may rejoice in the rest that we find for our souls. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered his prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His Manifold Blessings upon the new Nation.

FROM THE BRAVE, albeit weary, ill-equipped, and untrained volunteers who marched into Valley Forge on 19 December 1777 arose, with the help of some gallant friends from across the waves, the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, global defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants.



AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high in that bleak Winter, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and gather them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission.
