I don’t care what it’s for and how much it is. The indisputable fact is that it’s stolen from those of us who work hard for our money and pay for everything ourself.

$1300 a month????

I feed a family of three (one child) organic and whole foods. I do not spend $1300 per month on groceries! Where the hell did this author come up with that?!?!?!?!

You know those adverts you see on television about all the children going to bed hungry every night?

It can only be that momma traded the EBT for dope or whatever....and btw the food stamp amount allotted does not account for all the free lunches and breakfasts the kiddos get.

D.C.?

You would think with all those government jobs and government money floating around, they would not be #2 on the list.

Big Food and Big Business in general seem to have become strongly in favor of high levels of food stamps and other welfare payments because of the increased demand for their products. That’s why there’s no political will to try to reduce the welfare state if the donor class is for it.

This is misleading. The states with the most people on food stamps are the largest states California, Texas, Florida, New York.

Don’t let them get people thinking of DC is As a state. Even in stats that prove conservative points.

...some American workers simply cannot afford all of their groceries on top of everything else they already have to pay for like other peoples’ food stamps and welfare, the soaring national debt, huge wasteful government programs, foreign aid boondoggles, and replenishing the SSI funds the government has thrown away on Midnight Basketball etc.

This is why the government offers food stamps.

US government: “Giving back pennies on the dollars we take!”
US media: Telling you that’s a generous thing for the government to do LOL!

Every 5th person?

I’m not even IN one of those states and I can’t recall a time when I didn’t pay for groceries of the person in front of me at Walmart.

My 6 person family in FAirbanks, AK has a $1500 per month budget for groceries AND gas. At almost $3 per gallon, with 2-8 cylinder rigs.

American’s think this is bad now?

Wait another 5 years or so when government has imported another 10 million from Mexico, Pakistan, China, El Salvador, Somalia and on and on.

And it won’t stop.

We are simply being incrementally choked off.

$1300 a month? Almost $16,000 a tear for groceries? Sorry but I wasn’t born yesterday... It’s a liberal lie.

“...grocery bills priced as high as $1,300 per month...”
-
I budget $800/month to feed 5 adults and two toddlers.
BUT, that is MY money not someone else’s money.

I have never paid that much a month to feed a large family, and I could afford a lot more. These people obviously don't care since it's someone else's money.
