Rand paul getting buzz? matthew boyles - breitbart seems to be spinning favorable stories and press
vanity

Rand paul, a potential presidential candidate, seems to be getting a lot of favorable buzz and mentions in stories at breitbart lately, particularly by matthew boyles. Well, fact check these stories, because boyles may be spinning optics in rand paul's favor to generate internet buzz.

TOPICS: News/Current Events; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: election; randpaul; republican
I noticed that a lot of stories seem to be generated about rand paul lately, and I just wanted people to know that a lot of them seem to be spin for his potential presidential run - for instance.

standing-ovation-rand-paul-blows-away-liberal-black-audience
This article seems to make it sound like he wowed a large black audience when he spoke at bowie state. If you watch the video of the event from c-span, c-span video

of the visible audience of around 50 people, only about 9 blacks were seen. Nine blacks out of a 5,000+ black student population is less than 0.35%. Obviously, while the story makes it seem a rand won over a large black audience at bowie, in reality, blacks overwhelmingly ignored him.

On March 15, 2015, matthew boyle authored 5 stories on rand paul alone.

Please investigate the stories, and don't get fooled by the spin.

edit - missed a part - there were other stories that noted that the audience was closer to 150 people. even if there were 100 people in the audience, doubling the 9 blacks to 18 blacks out of a 5000 black student population was around 0.35%

the main point is, generating so many stories, gets picked up by bloggers on other sites, and may generate fake interest and support of rand paul. Thank you for reading this....

They can buzz all they want. The Pauls have a certain percent of diehard support at the start, but they have a hard ceiling and can’t survive as the field narrows.

Andrew Breitbart was a liberaltarian. And even after his death, Breitbart News still runs left of conservatism.

Just like Rand Paul.

So its a natural fit that Breitbart is throwing softballs to Paul.

Is the GOPe beginning to get antsy about Jeb? Is this the new guy they’re gonna push. When he started as a senator we all thought he was pretty independent from the establishment. Now we know better and especially when he started cozying up to Mitch McConnell. He’s pro-amnesty, libertarian on all social issues it seems, and he doesn’t rock the boat. Yeah he’s their next guy when Jeb falters.

Rand Paul is a little too squirrelly for my tastes. Plus is dad is nuts.

We got an unproven Obama for two terms. And look what that has done to us.

America does not need another questionable person at the helm.

He's making an interesting play for techie support:
Drawing applause from the room, the Republican from Kentucky said that he is the only candidate for 2016 who wants to bring an end to the National Security Agency (NSA) programs collecting bulk telephone metadata in an interview with Texas Tribune CEO Evan Smith. He argued that President Obama has lost popularity he once had among young voters under the age of 30 because he has failed to protect the civil liberties he said he would when he first ran for president.

“He showed much less regard for privacy than the Republicans did before him,” Paul said....

Not missing his opportunity to criticize his potential opponent Hillary Clinton, Paul made many jokes about the recent controversy over her decision to use a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state.

He gave a preview of a potential strategy to paint Clinton as part of an old guard of politicians unfamiliar with new technology, making jokes that she did not know that one phone could be connected to multiple email accounts. He lampooned her recent statements that the server was secure because it had been guarded 24/7, saying that hackers would not be coming through her window....

That is my feeling on Paul as well, that the establishment sees him as their ace in the hole against the conservatives and the conservative message.

I think its click bait to get the anti-war and anti-amnesty voters attack Rand in the comments and get Breitbart more hits.

Nothing wrong in spinning POSITIVE stories about candidates of your choice. What is much worse is eating your own, and spinning unfavorable stories of other republicans. In the wise words of poster Din Maker, who said:

We are Conservatives. We don’t unite. We leave it to the RINOs to unite behind a candidate. We like to bite and devour all the Conservative candidates one at a time until they’re all wounded, bruised and bleeding and eventually defeated by the lone RINO who will lose to the Liberal DemocRAT in the General Election. And, by damn, we ain’t changin’.
