Real estate heir Robert Durst was arrested Saturday in New Orleans on murder charges, his attorney said Sunday.

Durst was taken into custody around 11 p.m. local time. He is being held on a first degree warrant out of Los Angeles County by the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office.

Durst’s attorney, Chip Lewis, told KTRK that Durst will not fight extradition to Los Angeles. He hopes to get Durst in front of a magistrate judge in New Orleans tomorrow to start the extradition charges and plans to fight the charges in Los Angeles.

Durst, 71, is the subject of an HBO miniseries “The Jinx,” about his suspected involvement in three murders.

In 1982, Durst’s wife, Kathie, disappeared in California. Many believed Durst’s friend, Susan Berman, knew about his wife’s disappearance.

But two days before Christmas in 2000, Berman was killed execution-style with a single bullet to the back of the head inside her home in Hollywood Hills, Calif.

Makes me wonder if they have new evidence or just because it became “news” worthy that he was arrested.

...about his suspected involvement in three murders.

Ya know, Robert Todd Lincoln knew the victims, was in the vicinity, or actually saw, the assassinations of three presidents.

Nobody suspected him of being involved in three murders...

Just sayin', but haven't followed this particular saga.

His image consultant told him that his Q score was dismal compared to other mass murderers.

The series led to a never-before-seen letter discovered by Berman's stepson Sareb Kaufman. Kaufman told ABC News he believes Durst sent the letter to Berman a year before her death, and claims it carries similarities to an anonymous note sent to police by Berman's killer. That handwritten letter was recently handed over to authorities in California who reopened their investigation into the 2000 death of Berman. "I actually ordered a handwriting sample for a comparison back during the (2003 trial) at the request of Los Angeles police," said Galveston Judge Susan Criss. "I don't know why it took so long to get that comparison to figure out that he's the one that wrote that." http://abc13.com/news/robert-durst-arrested-in-new-orleans-/558767/

I got a Fox News alert on this one from my mobile app.
Had to open it because I had no idea who it was.

I WISH the officials could get something concrete on Durst. I have followed this creep’s story since his first wife disappeared. He is likely guilty of 3 murders. Known absolutely guilty of one, where he chopped up the body and then left the trash bags containing body parts, floating in Galveston Bay. He is from a wealthy New York family and he has always skated.

This is an interesting case. The Durst family has 4.4 billion dollars and may be considered VIPs. Some people who are VIP’s will walk if they commit crimes. Let us see if they find anything on this guy. I have followed this case. Robert Durst’s wife was murdered and then Robert disappeared. The story is that Mr. Durst might have posed as a mute lady in Galveston. It is quite likely that the lady was mute so she would not have to communicate with anyone. The across the hall neighbor of the mute lady (who quite possibly was Robert Durst) was savagely murdered and mutilated. Susan Berman was murdered some time later. If a man starts killing he may have to keep killing. People might recognize the murderer or be a witness to one of the murders.

I think they did an episode of “Law and Order” on him.

I can’t believe this obviously insane murderer has escaped justice for so long.

I can’t believe Dick DeGuerin is running his mouth about his innocent client.
