Saddam Hussein, although a non-benevolent despot, kept the peace in the middle east and protected Christians and Jews.
His bombing runs on Tehran caused much anxiety for the Ayatollahs.
It does make you wonder how the middle east would be today, had we not toppled Hussein and tried to nation-build. This fruitless endeavor has cost thousands of lives and likely led to the election of our own Hussein.
