I find it hard to believe that anyone in the chapter didn't know about the song, so I guess the national chapter is taking a 'guilt by association' position.
Depends, I guess.
I was in a faternity, but we were somewhat distributed into different subgroups/clicques. There were guys I only saw once a week at our dinner meetings and I generally had no idea what they were up to outside of Chapter business stuff.
For instance I found out, years after graduation, that there was one clicque that was really into some hedonistic, Shades of Grey type stuff with a group of girls from a sorority. I, and many others, had absolutely no clue about it.
But thats just my personal experience talking.
I know the song is bad, but since when is it a crime worthy of expulsion to “know” a song. Look what those filthy rappers sing about. Look what the blacks said about wanting white cops killed. This situation needs to be put into some sort of perspective. It’s just out of control with the reactions.
