Interesting...
Putin was supposed to attend a Eurasian Union summit in Astana on Thursday with the presidents of Belarus and Kazakhstan. He was also supposed to attend a treaty signing with the leader of South Ossetia on Wednesday in Moscow. Both meetings were unexpectedly canceled.
The news of the first cancellation came from Kazakhstan and included a statement that Putin was ill. The Russians quickly confirmed the cancellation but denied that he was sick.
In fact, the presidential spokesman, Dmitri Peskov, made a point of saying there was no illness involved. The second cancellation was reported by Russian news agency Vzglad, which speculated that Putin’s schedule was “oversaturated.”
That left open the question of why the meetings were canceled. Presidents do not casually cancel summits and treaty signings.
Lots of speculations, no facts, as usual.
There are also rumors that Rosneft’s Sechin is to resign, but others say that Rosneft’s spokesman has denied it.
There was a report over the weekend of a “Snap” Nuclear exercise, and rumors that the top defense heads are also out of Moscow right now.
Could all be just rumors, or there could be something out there. Who knows.
This is all I can get that’s remotely possible....Kremlin has confirmed, however, that the events are cancelled.
Mail “Russian Monitor” received a letter signed by an anonymous employee of the Central Clinical Hospital of President Administration (CDB) in Moscow, in which he reported that the staff of this elite Moscow hospital to which “attributed to” the top management of the Russian Federation, circulate rumors that Vladimir Putin a few days ago was diagnosed with ischemic stroke. The source said that directly to the CDB President not hospitalized.
Edition of “Russian Monitor” can not confirm or deny this information, which may well prove to be false, but it is impossible not to mention the fact that the President of Russia since the end of last week, did not appear in public, and his meeting with the presidents of Belarus and Kazakhstan was unexpectedly canceled . Observers note that for the time of Putin’s power, nothing like this has happened.
Reading London has the “jitters” about these rumors....interesting to follow as this develops...however it is questionable why he hasn’t been seen and these events halted. For all we know he could be meeting with Military to invade somewhere?
Anything I could guess would be purely wild speculation.
Given what happened with Nemtsov’s murder last week, someone was obviously trying to send a message to someone. Anything could be possible.
Perhaps a secret train-ride to a meeting in China, perhaps?
Actually “normal” for Russia to have such intrigue pretty much 24/7...it’s how they work. ..and frankly as Hillary’s e-mail unfolds our Gov. isn’t much better! They just have to be more careful about hiding it all!
Given the reports of the “Snap” Nuclear exercise, and the rumors of the top military leadership being out of town, as well, makes me think Putin could be at the Mount Yamantaw facility. (Where “dead hand” is supposedly located)
It is a “closed” area, and has been for a couple of decades.
Again, just wild, baseless speculation....
I recall An Oligarch saying the US plays “soft” politics but that Russia plays politics “hard and strong”.
I imagine they do politics like they do war....they are in it to win. Anything that's lost along the way is simply collateral damage.
I enjoy reading what people speculate if it's at least thought out with some facts.......read enough and there's always a picture of the truth that eventually comes out....and as much lies exposed, though not as frequently.
