Professional commentators are frequently unfairly ripped for expressing what they believe are facts. In a given situation, Candidate X can indeed sound disinterested or over-rehearsed, make mistakes, whatever. Pointing those things out doesn’t mean a commentator hates or that the candidate is bad.

Candidates and commentators can all have a bad day or just have blind spots.
