I dislike how the defense contractors own congress.

Do I support the military? You bet.

Do I want them to have the best material? You bet.

Do I think they are being horribly used and provided with the “best” equipment? I do not.

Its a very grey world. You have to look at who has their beak in the trough. We provide billions in military aid to countries, as long as they buy our stuff. Tell me why we would NOT want perpetual war around the planet if it fills our coffers?

The real problem in defense contracting is how the system is set up as a racist affirmative action gifting program. Instead of getting the best technical solutions for our military, the system is more worried about giving handouts to minority-owned and woman-owned small businesses. With Obama cutting defense, LPTA contracts means that the lowest price wins - even if a company is more technically qualified is just a little more expensive they still lose to the low ball company who will most likely fail. All in all, the current system harms the mission of our troops, which will eventually get people killed - if not already. However, the Small Business Administration will be OK with it as long as the perpetually oppressed (i.e. minority and woman owned businesses are made rich while offering an inferior product. By not having the best technical solution win, regardless of race or gender, this is nothing but Governmanty-mandated socialism.
