I’ve seen the video many times - I know they were singing in some deliberately shocking and outrageous ways - like a lot of blacks use the same word in their rap and hip-hop - amongst themselves, not in public to hurt or offend others like so much of the public displays in the sixties, for example - so tell ‘em to knock it off and suspend them for a year or something - don’t act like they were chasing people down the street with a machine gun or worse......

Don’t know what happened to him, haven’t really missed him - I sort of hope they keep Julie whatever her name is around as the token lib awhile longer - she seems reasonable and willing to look at other possibilities than the usual left-wing ideology.....

“Actually they are probably not responsible for their reprehensible behavior .... they were raised by rich families that did not teach them specifically not to sing racist song on buses where cell phones were present and their might be a bottom feeder ready for 15 minutes of fame.”

Since I don’t personally know the SAE members involved I’m not going to comment on their particular upbringings.

I will say that living in Austin since the 80s I’ve known known more than a few frat boys and I can say that the majority of the one’s I’ve met have a very strong sense of entitlement.
I really think the sense of entitlement is probably more in play than racism.
The ones I’ve known said some pretty racist things but only in the company of a large group of their brothers.

Individually they weren’t bad at all, but in a group they seemed to try to outdo each other.

I noticed that bigger the group, the more that sense of entitlement and mob mentality came out.

Really, it doesn’t seem like the person who recorded the video got any fame out of it. It seems the bottom feeders in this incident were the ones portrayed on video.

So we know the father is Bob Pettit, which most likely means his name is Robert. I wonder which party Robert Pettit donated to.

I do prefer her much more than Juan Williams and while I don’t agree with Beckel’s political views, I have a lot of respect for his openness regarding his ongoing battle with alcoholism. I also have a bet going with my wife about how long it will take him to start modifying his role as the typical loud mouth leftist thug. Also, I had a very bad back pain problem that has substantially diminished and I wouldn’t wish that level of pain on my worst enemy....possibly on OreO but not Beckel.

Thanks for getting back to me on the question.

Right, so I wouldn’t bother to grovel.

If it was my son....oldest is going to 17 at the end of the month.....he would be doing more than groveling. He wouldn’t be doing anything at all for years until I know he learned from his mistake. I don’t care if it was stupid. It was completely rude and unnecessary.

I wonder which party Robert Pettit donated to.

I actually hope it is Republican Party. This was a mistake that the son hopefully will learn from. If he is living in Highland Park he is actually working for a living so I predict he is a Republican.

Geez, when blacks do it, it’s protected free speech.

They should have just said they were filming it for MTV - they’d have been home free.

I’m with you on the back pain problem - have some that comes and goes and is certainly very debilitating when it shows up - while I don’t like Beckels’ loudmouth ways, I do admire the way he sticks up for what he thinks in the face of disagreement from the other four on the panel - when all four get going at once, I sometimes almost feel sorry for him - almost......

"...have you heard anything to explain Bob Beckel’s prolonged absence?"

I *am* a regular "Five" watcher - have it on now, as a matter of fact (TIVO'd) - but I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth:
Juan Williams is a vast improvement over Beckel - Juan even stays awake!

I suspect that Bob Beckel was having great difficulty in just sitting through each day’s program while trying to defend the liberal seat and was on heavy pain meds. That by itself is a major additional problem because of his past history of addiction to alcohol.

My personal opinion about Juan Williams is that Roger Ailes should have left him to find his own way after NPR fired him for being too “moderate”. He is a very good writer according to my wife who knows these things and I agree with her that writing is his field and being a regular panelist on Fox News Channel shows is not. At first, I thought it was a humane and smart move on Ailes part but after watching him fill in on the panel of shows I watch frequently (The Five, Special Report) I began to realize that I can’t stand his method of arguing which consists of a “Bidenesque” smirking, grimacing and talking over people which obscures the good points that he makes. At any rate, the world would be a deadly dull and boring place without differing opinions. They’re as enjoyable as is FNC.
