This means they are going to outlaw them in a document-dump on Friday at 5:01 PM EST.

Accordingly, ATF will not at this time seek to issue a final framework.

Good.

Somewhere, out there, a petty, undocumented, half-breed, tyrant is undoubtedly all wee-weed up.

“and include issues that deserve further study.”

Translation: “Those of you who we have identified will be getting extra special study.”

“Although ATF endeavored to create a proposal that reflected a good faith interpretation of the law and balanced the interests of law enforcement, industry, and sportsmen”... Uh, what a load of crap that statement is. Basically, they got busted. Back handed apology/slap in the face.

Proof we do not need the BATFE.
Stop the funding, make them sell their long folding tables.

I’m one of those 80,000. I basically wrote that the existing law didn’t allow them to ban the ammo. This is really good news. I wonder how many people bought up M855 in hopes of hording it.

The signatories of those letters will of course go into an ATF database. Quickest and easiest “gun registration” gambit I’ve ever seen.

For something that is supposedly a victory — this smells an awful lot like a trap or a false flag.

Where was this effort when 7N6 was banned?

And the ATF won’t stop. They are just going to wait and quietly ban it during the next national crisis.

Even if they suspend the ban on M855 - you ain’t gettin’ any.

It’ll be as scarce as .22LR.

I wonder how many guys that spent $1+/round in the feeding frenzy after it was announced are kicking themselves in the arse right now...

So what changed the ATF’s mind?

- - - -

The huge avalanche of negative comments from citizens.

Were caught in their violation to ignore the clear and unambiguous language of the law.

Congress’s legislation to do away with the ATF.

Congress’s legislation to reverse any M855 ban.

The House Judiciary and Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security Committees letter that was signed by 237 Cong critter opposing the ATF.

There’s still going to be a run on anything 5.56/.223.

Anybody checked where these guys have their 401ks invested?

I had a case of IMI M193, then I tipped the boat over. Damn.

Seriously, for an old guy in need of cataract surgery, I suspect WPA Military Classic is probably sufficient. Never had a problem with it. Punches a nice hole in regular steel.

I’m waiting for them to ban Russian & Ukraine 7.62x39. Leaving us to the expensive brass stuff.

I suspect they are archiving those 80,000 "comments" and putting them under a data base of those suspected of owning an AR-15.

The cudgel and rubber hose treatment in the basement of some DOJ or BATF Lubyanka will eventually establish just who is guilty of actually owning one. But don't worry, if they refuse to initially confess to their crimes they will later. After all, we know The State would not arrest somebody unless they were guilty of something. Eventually, everyone confesses, Comrade. Everyone.
