The Akron “Tigers” Wait just a minute. Real tigers are vicious and unfeeling, and have a long history of mauling and even killing people. And the Nazi German Tiger Tank killed more than a few Allied soldiers.
As I see it, the Akron Tigers are the ones who must be shunned. Their team name is repulsive.

"Catch a Tiger by the toe" used to have something else instead of a Tiger. Perhaps their school mascot used to be something else?
