I think more and more Democrats see Hillary as someone who would have been a formidable candidate 15 years ago, but is now someone whose best days are behind her. Her disastrous book tour, her complete failure as Secretary of State, and her current troubles involving foreign donations and her private email system are causing Democrats to conclude that a Hillary Clinton presidential run is a train wreck waiting to happen. They cringe every time she speaks in public these days. I also suspect that internal polling among younger voters is showing that they are not the least bit impressed with Hillary, and regard her as a relic left over from the last century. The Democrats know that they need to find another nominee, and fast.
You are right about dumping her. The proof will be in the intensity and endurance of the drumbeat from OTHER than conservative sources. Anything, truth or lie, spoken often enough is chiseled in stone and becomes its own important credo.
