The Finnish Defence Forces and the Swedish Armed Forces have proposed that Finland and Sweden expand the scope of their military co-operation to include crises and conflicts.
The proposal would lay the groundwork for a possible defence pact or military alliance if the necessary political will is forthcoming, Carl Haglund (SFP), the Minister of Defence, estimated in an interview with Helsingin Sanomat on Tuesday.
