A gunman ambushed cops and killed a veteran detective early Wednesday during a door-to-door shooting spree in an Atlanta-area suburb, police said.
Det. Terence Avery Green, a 22-year veteran Fulton County officer, died in a shootout with the suspect, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported.
Police said the suspect was possibly drunk when he started terrorizing the Cedar Grove neighborhood near Fairburn, Ga., early Wednesday. He carried a long barrel gun and banged on doors. Then, he fired into some of the homes, police said.
Fulton County cops responded to the scene around 1:30 a.m., and the man opened fire on the officers, police said. The suspect was injured during the early morning shootout, FOX 5 reported. Officials have not released his condition.

That is sure one mean drunk...
Prayers for the police officer’s family.
This is sad, but even worse is the lunkhead that crafted this assault on the English language.
Tragic story. GA FReeper ping.
What are the odds they will say he was shot with an M855 5.56mm?
RIP Terence Green.
Amanuel Menghesha.
Gesundheit!
Thanks for gunman’s pic, SS.
Fidelis ad mortem....
RIP dear brother.
I keep thinking of his wife (if he has one) getting the news. How indescribably sad for his family. I’m sorry this happened, and just the next town over, very near, where J and Z live (not the same neighborhood)
I heard this loser was out on a 24,000 bond. I wonder who put it up for him? Maybe the “fiancé” he beat up and then threatened her and her daughter with a gun telling them he had a bullet for both of them? The “fiancé’s” mother was on tv this morning apologizing for this idiot.
