Politicians, kings, rulers and tyrants do not seek power in order to give up power.
Any sort of centralized power structure is an electromagnet for the worst sort of human being that this species has to offer.
Man must either rule himself, or he will be ruled by other men.
There is no in between.
Politicians still fear the voters.
Our form of Government is gone regardless , because as John Adams said, Our [Constitutional] Government is for moral men [women]. It will work for no other. As our morals, as a Nation, sink below the morals of an alleycat, so does our Constitutional form of Government. Our Government is thoroughly corrupt from the Court House to the white House.
