UKRAINE: President Obama discussed with European leaders the situation in Ukraine [more of nothing]

March 3 videoconference with US President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and European Council President Donald Tusk. They discussed the situation in Ukraine. According to the results videoconference White House released the following statement:

"Today, President Obama discussed the situation in Ukraine with the leaders of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the European Council President Donald Tusk. The meeting reiterated its intention to seek a peaceful settlement of the conflict in eastern Ukraine, as provided in the plan of peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine, agreed on February 12 in Minsk and Minsk Agreement, signed in September 2014. They condemned the attack separatists and their Russian support on Debaltseve, which began immediately after approval of the plan on February 12, in violation of the agreements reached.

The meeting called on all parties to cease all hostilities and cooperate with the OSCE, in order to allow the observers to make sure that the fighting withdrawn all heavy weapons and complete the exchange of prisoners. They reiterated their support of the OSCE and that observers from this organization should have full and free access to the entire area of ​​conflict, and discussed ways to increase the efficiency of monitoring activities of the OSCE.

The leaders expressed hope for a successful and full implementation of the Minsk Agreement and decided that the weakening of the sanctions is only possible with the full and strict compliance with the terms of these agreements. They also confirmed their intention to immediately and consistently to take additional measures in the nature of the sanctions if serious violations are, or Russian-backed separatists try to seize new territory.

The leaders of the Ukrainian parliament approved the adoption of a package of large-scale reforms and reiterated their determination to collaborate with international partners in the process of providing financial assistance to Ukraine needed to stabilize the economy.

They also discussed the ongoing fighting in Libya and the terrorist threat by LIH and agreed on the need to continue consultations to discuss methods of neutralizing this threat and to facilitate a political settlement of the conflict

Gee, I wonder if he offered, "any (new) viable alternatives"?

I hope they weren't insulted by any condescending advice.
