On the threat of a nuclear Iran, Israel's long-serving hawkish Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has frequently cited the wisdom of Israel Zangwill, an early 20th-century British Zionist who tried to establish a Jewish homeland in places as diverse as Canada, Australia and Uganda.
Mr. Zangwill's motto, as the former commando and diplomat has often been recalled favourably, was "obsta principiis," Latin for "resist beginnings," or as he described it, "oppose bad things when they are small."
For Mr. Netanyahu, the first Israeli prime minister born in Israel proper, that meant railing against the Iranian threat back in the early 1990s when it only had a single reactor, and enrichment expertise still had to be bought on the global black market, rather than developed domestically, as it has in the decades since.
As a heavyweight rising star in Likud in 1992, soon to be leader, Mr. Netanyahu said Iran was as few as three years away from a bomb, and the threat needed to be "uprooted by an international front headed by the U.S."
In his first speech as Prime Minister, he said: "Iran is seeking to obtain a nuclear weapon and constitutes the gravest threat to our existence since the war of independence."

And this is why he is being panned or being not taken too seriously by some hosts and guests on cable news and in print:
In 1995, Netanyahu repeated his 1992 claim (given in 1992 before the Israeli Knesset) that Iran was "three to five years away from making a bomb."
Testifying before Congress n 2002, Netanyahu claimed that Iraq had centrifuges "the size of washing machines" which turned out to be false.
In 2009, Netanyahu claimed that Iran was just a few months away from achieving nuclear weapons status.
In 2012, according to Ynet News and others, Netanyahu said that Iran was just "a few months away" from attaining nuclear weapons status.
Israeli intelligence, according to media reports recently released, had information in 2011 and 2012 that contradicted what Netanyahu told the United Nations in 2012. Israeli intelligence found then that Iran "was not preforming the activity necessary to produce weapons."
Netanyahu's adherence to Zagwill's motto has some saying that Netanyahu cries wolf too often...
Can one ever be too vigilant?
How many DemoNazis are boycotting his speech?
Hate to say it but there too many Republicans displaying less than enthusiastic response for my liking....
Well that figures being that lately there seems to be just as many Democraps in the Republican party as there are in the Democrap party. Jeb Bush running as a Republican? LOL! The guy is as far leftist as it gets, what a joke. Next we’ll have Nancy Pelosi running as a Republican. That’s why this Islamic agent posing as our POTUS gets away with the crap he does, we basically are a one party run country today.
Bibi is saying that Israel will no longer ask for permission to protect themselves . . . they will stand alone if necessary, and I see that as a veiled “in-your-face” to Obama’s supposed threat to shoot down Israeli jets. Go for it Bibi!!!
