A majority of young Republican voters support legalizing marijuana, even as older GOP members still believe it would be a danger to society, according to a new study.

The Pew Research Center found in a recent study that nearly two-thirds of Republican millennials, 63 percent, believe pot should be legalized. Millennials include those born since 1981.

So do they believe that companies should have the right not to hire users, and if so, what to do with all of the users that will be chronically unemployable?

Well, the younger generations tend to be more liberal in various areas than older folks. They see smoking pot as similar to drinking alcohol. And they take the position that responsible use of these substances should be a matter of personal.choice. They don’t see any harm to society in legalizing drugs.

These “millenials” have been exposed to the poison of liberalism and have chosen drugs as the cool thing to do. If I were in position to hire or fire, Drug use would be an instant dis-qualifier. However, soon there will be a “right” established to take recreational drugs and I would be sued for a job!

The fact that older wiser people don’t support legalization is telling.

Most “young” Republicans have been exposed to not much of a real bar for standards.

Think about it— they are in a world upside down, where they can utube beheadings.

By the measure of what they see and know (after a long stint in Public Education and Academia), a pinch of pot or even a barrel of it must look pretty tame.

There are more places to buy pot than beer in Tacoma, WA.

Or so it seems.

Just so’s y’all know what you get.

Pot use is stupid, but filling the prison system with pot heads is more stupid. The US has the highest per capita rate of imprisonment in the world and much of the prison population consists of drug offenders.

Lets see I’m 64 years old, conservative, voted GOP all my voting life and a Jew. I have watched the (WAR ON DRUGS) most of my life. If we fought Nam as badly as the WAR ON DRUGS I would be standing in a rice paddy right now. Maybe the young people think theirs a better way to wage war.

I’ve heard the same thing. Wonder what the percentage of those imprisoned for drugs is for pot compared to other drugs.

I’ll distinguish between them using pot and believing it should be legal.

I see it as the same as prohibition. You just criminalize people that would otherwise be law abiding.

That doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to smoke it but neither is getting drunk.

Why is this surprising? Young skulls full of mush want to legalize pot.

I probably did when I was this age, too. But people eventually grow up.

True. Polls of younger conservatives show a lot of support for homosexual marriage. I saw a poll of young conservatives regarding marriage and barely over 50% supported traditional.marriage. We conservatives have lost our own younger generations on that issue.

"So do they believe that companies should have the right not to hire users, and if so, what to do with all of the users that will be chronically unemployable?"

They're the most employable and have been for a long time. They're among the bipartisan, socialist elite, and mommy and daddy will fix everything.
