Shut It Down (Saturbray)

Isaiah 40:30-31 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Once again our fearful leaders are terrified of the word “shutdown”. In spite of any proof whatsoever that a shutdown has lost any seats they act as if the mere mention of the word has them running for the nearest foxhole. It is not so much the politicians who are afraid of the word shutdown, which they are; their managers who lose election after election have told them to stay away from conflict at any cost. They cannot imagine what would happen if they were to take the ever shrinking media arrows and show their supporters and voters actual wounds. You would think they could see how the Establishmedia attacks have actually helped Scott Walker and would also work in the Repubs’ favor, but they are incapable of fighting. The good news is the new Tea Party members have forced the leadership’s hand.

What if everything we know about politics is wrong? What if the media has been exposed as an arm of the Dem Party and everybody knows the talking heads are all Brian Williams liars? What if the Republicans are giving too much credit to a very Lame Duck failed presidency who is working with a hated congress to make life more difficult for the American people? If those facts are true then it makes sense to keep sending the DHS bill again and again to the Senate and let Dirtbag Harry become the Dr No of the Congress. Let the Senate be the bad guys in this fight and hammer Reid and McConnell until they come to their senses and they send the bills people who voted for this landslide to the White House. At some point they will either vote along with the Repubs or it will go nuclear.

The Marxist media will explode, but that would be an ever shrinking blast. They will blame the Repubs just as they blamed Scott Walker. When will the Repubs understand these flaming arrows actually can be used to draw attention and light a spark among the American voters? People are not so much accepting Walker as their candidate as they are sympathizing and supporting someone under attack. They understand the absolute corrupt clique of activists who are the Establishment Media. The voters not only understand, but are happy someone is not crumbling to the paper tiger that is the media. He has used their hatred against them and within days you could see their attacks become more and more desperate. This needs to be a learning moment for the GOP.

There are no lost seats when you make stands like this. The reason the GOP won so many seats during the midterm was two reasons. First, Cruz took it upon himself to fight against Obamacare and a much better GOTV effort. Ted Cruz fired up the troops and gave large groups of conservatives a voice as well as a person to rally behind. These groups are the extremists who the Establishment tries to avoid, but they are the ones who man the phones and knock the doors. If you want to win elections you better cater to them and ignore the ones who want moderation since moderation is the easiest path to losing. Follow your passionate people to the victory circle and they are the ones wanting their Reps to stand up.

If McConnell and Boehner would finally get up and fight like their careers depended on it we would be setting ourselves up for another massive landslide. They claim they have a number of seats that are being contested which should be a reason to fight. Why should anyone vote for someone who will not take a stand on something as important as immigration? That is why they are sent there and if they are sending messages to their voters and supporters that they are more interested in their career than doing what is right for the country they are setting themselves up for a loss. They need to give their people a reason to go knock those doors and chase the votes so they are passing up a perfect opportunity.

If the Repubs are serious about winning the next election they would dig in hard and send measure after measure to the White House or Senate to get stopped. No matter how the media explains it the House and McConnell can simply say they are doing what their supporters want them to do, but these two are standing against the will of the people. Eventually their people will fall away as they look at bill after bill and in around 18 months there will be a whole new group of voters ready for a change. These are good stands and easy for Americans to understand. Keep hammering with the XL pipeline and stopping immigration and Obamacare and if a few make work employees are not drawing a paycheck for a while they can simply ask Obama why they are not getting paid for his stubbornness.

Respect is not given it is earned especially with the enemedia. They hate you anyway so you may as well give them a reason. They may have hated the midterm landslide, but they had to respect it. Boehner simply has to go in front of the cameras and say he is not there to make friends in the media and wishes Reid would do his job rather than playing cheap politics. John says that enough times and sooner of later the cameras will point at Reid and Obama and may finally be forced to ask them a tough question. In reality America is suffering from Obama fatigue and this will only make it more chronic setting up a sickness that will have only one cure. We can continue to be the President’s doormat and be a laughingstock or fight back and earn some respect. Not fearing the word “shutdown” is the first step towards that respect. America is looking desperately for leadership and this is one of those times when leaders are formed. Who is going to pick up the mantle and wear it in Red, White and Blue?

Pray America is waking

During a “shutdown” they do not shut down any part of the government they consider “essential”.

This is a perfect opportunity for political theater to teach the American people a lesson we’ve tried and tried to explain over the years to no avail: much of what government does, we don’t need. We will never get a better chance to teach that lesson. Shut the government down, life goes on.

Exactly right. How much of DHS is nothing more than make work jobs for the DC area?

I vote for representatives to go the D.C. and represent me, and I want the WHOLE GOD DAMNED FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN. When they reestablish that congress makes law, not the executive branch, not the judicial branch... then maybe some of it can stay.
