From Jamie Dupree on Twitter
Awesome. The Tea Party team saved the day.
222-204 against ... per DuPree’s twitter Now what?
An 11th hour save?
As I understand it, the House requested a conference so they CANNOT now vote on the bill that just came from the senate. It’s in the senate’s hands now, they can agree on a conference or not.
But in the mean time, looks like a DHS shutdown.
Boehner’s DHS Poker Hand

Wow - lots of confusion about what’s going on today.
The House just put a great wedge between Obama and congressional Democrats, and so many of you don’t see it.
If Democrats don’t go along with the house, they give up grants that have already been appropriated for their home districts - the 3 week CR, by law, forbids any grant money from being granted, and the clock is running. If it doesn’t get used this year, it’s lost.
The Constitution is working as it should - congress is not allowing money for DHS, other than emergency opperations.
The RATs now need to choose, are they with Obama and NO Grants for their home districts, or will the come to their senses and go along with the House.
I would love to have Boehner’s poker hand.
I’m Lost. Does this mean we are going to a “clean” ( dirty) HSA spending bill ? why would Tea Party force that?
Louie Gomert.

No. See my other post. When the House voted for a conference, they pitched the ball back to the Senate.
I’m not a parliamentarian. That’s just my understanding per what Steny Hoyer said.
Interesting. It’s quite possible that Boehner is letting the Senate know that he knows how to legislate too.
I was wondering if Dingy Mitch had a deal with Boner for Boner to take the heat on this one. Boner SHOULD put the heat back on the slimy Mitch.
Final vote against 3 week resolution 224-203
I’m confused, but if what you say is true hope BOehner doesn’t fold.
Oh I get it. The conference forces the workout but what about funding? There is bno bill to fund— right?
I’m the first to admit I’m way to naive to understand this 3-level game of chess.
I don’t care how they make this sausage, as long as the RATS finally lose one. We’ve been taking it in the nuts non-stop since we took back the Senate and bolstered the House in Nov.
This week Rush mentioned some procedure where the House could accept the Senate Bill and add an amendment that defunds the amnesty. The Senate would then have a simple majority vote with no filibuster to approve the amendment to their bill? Anyone know anything about that?
“Oh I get it. The conference forces the workout but what about funding? There is bno bill to fund right?”
Correct.
It appears the 3 week smoke and mirrors has failed. I am without words.
