The cave has begun. Last night, Mitch McConnell (R-KY) started the process of bringing up a standalone bill that would only overturn Obamas executive amnesty issued last fall. It would leave in place the previous executive amnesty from 2012, DACA. What Senate Leadership wont tell you is that the standalone bill is designed to fail. Democrats will block the bill and then Senate Republicans will move either a long-term bill to fully fund Obamas executive amnesty and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or only a short-term bill to fund Obamas executive amnesty and DHS. Both are unacceptable options to conservatives.
Senator John Thune (R-SD) foreshadowed this charade of a drive by vote back in January, when he said, "Obviously we want to give our members an opportunity to vote to express their opposition to the presidents action. The McConnell plan is designed to allow Senate Republicans to go back to their constituents saying they voted against executive amnesty, without really having to take a stand against it.
Dont be fooled.
The liberal media and liberal Republicans would like for you to believe that they only have two options: get blamed for a partial shutdown of DHS or punt the attempt to stop Obamas executive amnesty to a later date with a short-term bill. However, at this point if liberal Republicans keep funding it one has to ask at what point does it become a bipartisan amnesty?
Dont punt. Republican Leadership should at least have the fortitude to admit they were dishonest with the American people in December. Dont lie to the American people again and say in a few months time that Republicans will stop the president.

These sorry guttless bastards. We must flood the House members to block this. This party is not worth a crap. THEY ARE FUNDING THE LAWLESS EDICT OF A DESPOT!! Look for the party to rip apart.
They should all be executed for treason.
The State Dept says ISIS people need work, just sayin'
Did anyone really expect the current R leadership to stand their ground on this?
Sounds like a plan. We’ll gift wrap them and ship the to the Middle East.
And they’ll want my vote in 2016, and my money. Get both from the illegals.
Not me. I said that Amnesty would be passed under Republican leadership, and quite a few people here got angry with me. Practically all of Congress is composed of greedy, lying, amoral traitors when it comes down to it.
Works for me.
Just asking. Can’t the senate send the bill as is,(not funding illegal immigration)to Obama using the nuclear option?
Mitch McConnell will meet Ben Dover and take one for Obama’s Illegals
If the Senate moves and passes a bill that is different or amended from the bill the House passed, it will have to go back to the House or to a conference committee. It can then be passed under reconciliation and be immune to filibuster. The conference committee can strip all the ammedments and return the original where it would pass by simple majority. Could be a parlimentary trap for the Dems.
They stood their ground, it just isn't the ground you wanted them to stand. These GOPe are not stupid they are duplicit, once you figure that out it all makes perfect sense.
A little bit of sugar helps the medicine go down. {:~)
