What’s funny is that now she’s getting flak from her own side because they say the way she said it, she only meant “white women”. LOL!

Talk about being hoisted on your own petard.

Streep and J Lo are two other low IQ morons.

Like to see their pay scales for the household help.

"Who wants to see a gay guy in his tighty whiteys?"

The wife watches these love fests mainly for the fashion so I caught some of it. I walked away before that smarmy classless ahole did his lame joke and glad I did. He's the reason I stopped watching "How I Met Your Mother" after the first season, not to mention the writing just wasn't funny. Where's Billy Crystal when you need him?

"And Patricia Arquette shrieking about equal pay when it is has been a Federal law for 50 years."

Can these egocentric back-slapping celebrities be more ignorant? Numerous companies have been fined/sued over the years for unequal pay. Really disappointed in Meryl Streep's standing ovation, but not surprise by J-low. Gawd I despise Hollywood's self-importance. They only know the liberal/socialist talking points and never bother to research what they espouse.

"Oscar, Grammy and Emmy are DEMOCRATS..."

The Oscars, Grammys, Emmys, SAG, Critics Choice, Golden Globes are determined by affiliated peers in each media. Hardly objective. What most people don't know is that studios lobby for their movies, TV shows, and recordings. I know because I used to be in the film industry. It's all a farce. The only award show I put in any credence in is the "People's Choice Awards". They are voted by us peons.

Also, contrary to some opinions, I don't believe an award should go to the biggest money maker. Top 5 grossing movies of 2014 with my humble opinion:
1. Guardians of the Galaxy; (haven't seen, but looks stupid and too CGI);
2. Hunger Games:Mocking Jay; (like the acting, but tired gov vs working class story);
3. Captain American:The Winter Soldier (puhlese, more unbelievable action CGI crap);
4. The Lego Movie; (if it works for young kids, okay);
5. Transformers: Age of Extinction; (the entire concept is just beyond inane and difficult to watch when the robots change);

The rest of biggest grosses are mostly tired remakes or sequals. What to see something worthwhile? Watch "The Theory of Everything". Interesting, heart-wrenching and uplifting. The guy deserved the best actor award. It's of the same caliber of "A Beautiful Mind" which Russel Crowe got shafted for best actor for Denzal Washington's "Training Day".

Got my heat shield on...

"Yes, my consolation is that Eastwood doesn’t need to care about a worthless award from the leftist navel-gazers. I wouldn’t be crying, if I were in his position. He didn’t need their seal of approval to succeed."

Agreed, Eastwood is at the top of his game. He is an amazing director. I've never considered him to be a great actor, but he showed more range and stole every scene in "Grand Torino", which he directed. The ending actually choke me up. Unknown to many who don't watch the credits, he also co-wrote the ending song to the movie. He's jewel in the cesspool that is Hollywood.

Thank you.

If it weren't for my wife, I would cancel most of our cable channels. My only consolation is watching "The Soup" that makes fun of all the inane moronic classless reality shows, including award shows.

If you have it, check out The Soup sometime. It will validate every negative thought you've had about stupid reality shows while putting a smile on your face. Joel McHale is funny and sometimes he even loses control and laughs at himself. Ignore some of the skits. Some are good, others are lame.

Agreed to all. Though just about my favorite of his directorial efforts is “Bird”, once I manage to choke back behind me some of the attitudes. At least it didn’t come across as if Eastwood was pushing any agenda, just showing these people as they showed themselves.

I used to watch the Soup many years ago. It was truly funny. I’ll have to check it again.

Every movie that I know of that Eastwood produced or directed has been exceptional, including "Bird".

Excuse me for changing the discussion but I just found out Harry Belafonte received a Honorary Oscar. The guy may have started out as "humanitarian", but became a full blown communist who has Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez of Venezuela as friends. Pfft.

His words: "With interventions like McCarthyism and the Black List, Hollywood, too, has sadly played its part in these tragic scenarios, and on occasion, I have been one of its targets."

Really Harry? "Birth of a Nation" made in 1915 is the best you can do? What say you of the thousands of black youth killed every year by blacks in Detroit, Chicago, Philly, DC, et al? Have you spoken out about that? Apparently, your rambling racist speech is about bad whitey?

Senator McCarthy was right, Mr. Belafonte. You and your slobbering socialist/communist rich hypocrites of Hollywood are a threat to our Constitutional Republic. Communism and freedom of choice to excel are incompatible. just as is Islam. Go to hell and take your stupid Banana song with you.

They will forever focus on centuries-old history in America, while ignoring current events in the world even as I type which enslave and kill more blacks than ever occurred under American slavery. We’re where the money (and the moronic guilty white leftists) are. They have go further and further back, and reach for more and more ludicrous examples of “racism” for their payday now, but they still get their extortion money. This stopped being about any principles, including racism, as soon as they got the right to vote and did away with Jim Crow. Funny thing, “separate” is just fine with them as long as they get the largest, by far, piece of the pie, and YT can just continue to foot the bill.
