Drones have been seen flying over several sensitive landmarks in Paris in a night-time mystery that French police say is being taken seriously.
At least five of the unmanned aerial machines were spotted between midnight on Monday and 0600 on Tuesday, and none of the operators has been caught.
The first appeared over the US embassy and there were later sightings near the Eiffel Tower and Place de la Concorde.
French police believe the drone flights could be linked.
Small drones are easy to buy but their appearance in recent months over sensitive locations has worried French authorities.

Ain’t diversity grand??!!
Perhaps they could borrow some from the UK that has a similar program sniffing out miscreants that have not purchased a government permit to watch TV.
BBC's Magic TV Detector Vans Kept Secret from the state-secrets dept
As many of you probably know (especially if you live in the UK), you have to buy a license to have a TV (or even a TV tuner card for a computer). The license fees go to pay the BBC to operate.
Apparently, the BBC has some secret "TV detector" vans that can sit outside your house and determine if you have an illegal TV (I only wish I were making this up).
Someone filed a Freedom of Information request to find out how these supposed detector vans worked, but the request has been denied, and these magic detector vans shall remain a state secret.
A lot of Iranian “migrants” live in France.
France brought this upon themselves. We’re right behind them.
According to Monty Python, they also have Cat Detector vans to find those who have failed to purchase their cat owner’s licence.
Since their equipment can detect a purr at forty yards, the owner of a happy cat is almost certain to be caught.
;^)
The freak drone builders out in LA were capable of building stuff that carry 10 kilos up from Ole Mexico. How hard could it be for them to build one that carried 10 kilos of some explosive or other?
The Frogs are right to be worried as their disgruntled Muslim Utes could try to take take out the Eiffel Tower or Place Pompidou!
The risk isn’t worth the price of drone restriction. They are fun and people enjoy them. This is hype to restrict drones, like the White House thing.
Someone’s toy flew in. So what?
