show off his soft shoe

That the same as showing off his light loafers?

Don't encourage them...homosexuals dancing with each other on that show is not too far off. I normally wouldn't give a rats patootie, but my wife loves the show. And since I'm forced to spend time with her before she retires, I have to sit on the couch and be there while she watches. When she retires, I'll go downstairs to my lair.

Fortunately, I'm usually looking at my laptop when the show is on. But of course, it's impossible not to hear what's going on.

Pretty much, I wonder if he’ll be paired with a chick or a dude.

He’s not a former NFL player.

He never played a down in a league game.
He was never on a roster during the league season.

He’s a former try out who didn’t make it.
He got cut from the practice squad.

Coming out as gay has proven to be a brilliant move for this guy. I’m not a football fan (at all) but my understanding is that his NFL career lasted weeks. He has no claim to fame from football except being a gay football player. For this, he gets celebrity status . . . talk about 15 minutes of fame . . . Geez, the media and the left are so foolish!

I’m sure it’s not an accident that they’ve had the habit of pulling in ex nfl players like Emmitt Smith and Hines Ward as well as other types of athletes. That brings in some of the sports fans I would assume.

DWTS is a dumping ground for all the has-beens. Now, a never-was is breaking the barrier.

I don’t know what homophobia is, but I do know what homo-repulzed is.

The homosexual from last season didn’t win, and he was a good dancer. The audience preferred Tommy Chong who basically walked while his partner did the dancing. Happily, Sadie Robertson outlasted them both.

The whole damn world is pending destruction and this is the MAJOR NEWS story of the day?

The news media needs to adjust their priorities or get the hell out of business. (I prefer the later)

DWTS is a dumping ground for all the has-beens.

Donny and Marie Osmond parlayed their appearances into a multi-year contract as the top headline act on the Las Vegas strip.

I can pretty much guarantee he won't win. The Mrs. watches this show religiously and she's usually glued to the TV set when I come home from work on Monday nights during the season.

I find it amusing that he's on a "Star" show, of any kind. He was never a star, so he doesn't even qualify as a 'has been'.

He might last far into the season (I even have my doubts about that), but he'll be weeded out once the show gets down to the serious contenders, many of whom are good considering they're non-professionals when it comes to dance..

The 2 male judges, the older dude & the other guy, are both on the ... ahem ... "flamboyant" side, so I don't think homophobia will be an issue, at least from the judges' standpoint. Since viewer voting also counts, I don't think he'll get the overall support he may be counting on.

Emmitt Smith & Evander Holyfield, 2 of the former athletes they've had over the years, both lived up to their "star" status. This guy will be an afterthought.

That answer is pretty obvious.

He never played NFL football...

It seems to me that prior to being a "former NFL player," at some point in the past one would have to have been a "current NFL player."

FWIW, I like this show much more than the fake reality shows. The "stars" are usually less famous than the dancers are, so the whole thing is kind of warped. It's mostly desperate or aged former stars trying to extend their careers.

But you know what? They take a risk out there. They're expected to improve and become pretty good dancers. The judges and the at-home voters are tough on contestants who don't try to excel. Someone like Kelly Pickler or that Duck Dynasty daughter can actually learn how to become elegant dancers and enhance their careers.

The "reality" show that's so outrageous it's irresistible is Trump's Celebrity Apprentice. That is total has-beens who will do anything to get a little publicity. I feel okay laughing at them (not with them) because they've sunk real low to stay in the limelight. JMHO
