How bout it, all you FReeper libertarians?Pot smoke is bad for the lungs - I believe it's been established to increase the odds of bronchitis.
Should we ban everything with potential bad health effects?

Alcohol and caffeine. In moderation, those are my self-inflicted poisons. I don’t need or want any more!

Some things are unhealthy if indulged to excess, and some are always bad for you. Society weighs the effects & makes decisions. Heroin was invented to break morphine addiction & cocaine was unregulated at one time.
Pot causes bronchitis? I got that s*** three times while deployed and I thought my lungs were going to drown. And I haven’t smoked since my youth.
Lungs weren’t designed to process smoke.

Should other adults have the freedom to choose different self-inflicted poisons? It isn't "Freedom" to screw your brains up by indulging in recreational drug usage.
Freedom is about the right to live and worship as you please, to find love and raise children without the government or anyone else, stealing from you or forcing you to work for them. To be able to speak your mind in public, or write what you wish.
It isn't about dope or cheap sex. It never was.

Or from alcohol.Waaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!! They get Alcohol!!! I want my Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedddddd!!!!!!!!

Why does "society" rather than each individual adult get to make the decision? Because individuals who get stuck on drugs are non compos mentis.

You constantly try to compare alcohol to drugs, and as it has been pointed out to you continuously, you still don’t get the fact that we don’t have to be fair to drugs just because we put up with the damage caused by alcohol.

Freedom is about the right to live and worship as you pleaseExcept those who would be pleased to have pot in their lives. Hypocrite.

You constantly try to compare alcohol to drugsIt's a simple fact that withdrawal from alcohol can cause death. Alcohol IS a drug.

What about users who don't get stuck?

Trouble with pot is that it doesn't stay in one place, but has a tendency to drift to other families.
Spreads like a disease, it does.
To: ConservingFreedom
It's a simple fact that withdrawal from alcohol can cause death. Alcohol IS a drug. Yeah, I know. But as bad as it is, society made a conscious decision to keep it despite all the death and destruction it causes.
Yours didn't get the free pass.
To: ConservingFreedom
What about users who don't get stuck? You know how to make a law to distinguish between the two before the fact? I certainly don't.
To: Cvengr
The drug cartels can’t touch the tobacco companies or big pharma. They don’t have the money, they don’t have the government connections, and they don’t have the distribution network. Real legalization will see the cartels die because they can’t compete with the legal companies.

I know it's profoundly immoral to force ALL compos mentis adults to not do something that will in the future make SOME of them non compos mentis.
