As the litigation for the Deepwater Horizon (DWH) oil spill lurches through the legal system, the case has become a magnet for those seeking to take advantage of the deep-pockets oil industry defendant. In addition to those looking to prosper directly from the spill, the environmentalists and their mainstream media allies have exploited the situation to make their case against the use of oil in general -- and more specifically, against offshore drilling and oil production.
If you restrict your reading on the topic to what appears in the mainstream media, you may be convinced that the science shows the DWH oil spill had catastrophic impacts across much of the Gulf of Mexico. But a critical review of the peer-reviewed science on the topic reveals that many of the concerns have been wildly overblown.

Example
In 1945 Nagasaki/Hiroshima were two little heard of towns in Japan who had the ‘bigun’ dropped on them as a means to bring Japan to its knees.
The pictures of mass destruction were thrust upon us for years.
In that same 1945, Detroit MI was a thriving city with up being the ‘only’ direction.
Fast forward to 2015 and check out the pictures of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, then check out the pictures of Detroit MI AFTER the Unions and Liberals got through with it.
The Exxon Valdez was as a bottle of wine poured into the ocean.
What about the MILLIONS of tons of shipping, military and transport sunk during what was called WWII? The oceans were covered with vast oil slicks from sinking tankers, gasoline slicks from Aircraft carriers, in addition to whatever else floated from destroyed vessels.
Somehow the oceans have survived these terrible events. Fish still swim and sea birds still raise their voices along countless shorelines.
What is the condition of the shore and sea at the sight of the FIRST modern oil spill. When the Torrey Canyon went down and the oil spread across the sea, the professional doomsayers had a collective melt-down. What are those waters like today?

DH was not by any stretch a major oil spill. Nor was its impact of any significance whatsoever. Nevertheless, I am contacted almost daily by ambulance chasing law firms looking for plaintiffs in this case based on fraud and fear. I am asked to document below average sales during the period of the spill. In truth my sales increased dramatically. I probably owe Exon money.
