I cannot believe that this is actually a thing.

Dinosaurs all died because of Noah’s flood? Good grief!

So what about all of the ones that lived in the sea? Did they die of loneliness?

" No one currently claiming millions hundreds of years was there and is depending on present day processes to conjecture not only the timeframe, but what happened."

The Bible doesn’t say the earth is 6,000 years old. It is basically a record of Adam and his descendants. That record is approximately 6,000 years old. It’s anyone’s guess as to what time period elapsed between Genesis 1:1 and the creation of Adam.

Yes, and because of that fact, your tracks were not preserved as fossils, but were washed away.

Don't know. I never went back to look for any.

But we DO have recorded history from people from hundreds of years ago.

” It’s anyone’s guess as to what time period elapsed between Genesis 1:1 and the creation of Adam.”

And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

The author made a giant unwarranted leap in logic “swim tracks ergo Noah’s flood.”

“But we DO have recorded history from people from hundreds of years ago.”

How do you know who and when those ‘documents’ were generated?

And the Earth is flat too? And the Sun revolves around the Earth?

That crazy imam profiled in a few FR threads yesterday sounds a lot like some of this stuff.

Nothing so complicated. If you assume an all powerful and all knowing creator than that creator could create a universe
where the light and gravity waves and everything else is already 6000 light years from the earth traveling along a trajectory toward earth at the moment of creation. Try and prove that one false.

“Try and prove that one false.”

The reason you never see the fairy godmother is because she is invisible.

I wasn’t, but I believe you are, referring to scripture.

If you’re actually interested in an investigation of the veracity and historicity of the Bible,

there are many others that have done so and would be easily available to you, and would be much less cumbersome to study than a discussion on Freerepublic.
One of these sources that first comes to mind is “The Case of the Bible”, available in book and audio form from Amazon or your local library.

If you’re talking about simple historic accounts from 2-300 years ago, I don’t think the timeframe of those would be in question.

I wasn’t specifically referring to scripture.

You never know for sure.

And extremely shy, like the Yeti, Bigfoot, the Abdominal Snowman (whom no one can stomach) and the Loch Ness ‘monster’.

And Sasquash...

...don't forget Sasquash!

So they are trying to say that tracks from 100 million years ago were made just 4500 years ago...

Even employing the record of Adam and his descendants to reach the number of about 6000 years depends on a particular interpretation of a couple of Hebrew words which could be argued—the word translated “year,” and the word translated “begot.” If “begot” doesn’t mean the immediate and direct transmission of the Y chromosome (and there are instances in the Bible where the word does not, or if “years” is not meant in our present usage (and there are instances where it does not), then the passages in the Bible under consideration are not suitable tools for calibrating our western-style natural history.

You never know for sure.

That’s true. I’ve heard the comparison for the manuscript evidence of the historicity of the account of Christ’s life to the existence of Aristotle are over 100:1.

St. Augustine (b. 354 AD) took the view that the Biblical text should be interpreted metaphorically, if a literal interpretation contradicts science and our God-given reason.
...........
Augie, bless his heart, did a lot of good things. But he also pulled a lot of stuff out of his fanny with his allegorical interpretations. I can make up my own list of allegorical interps to counter his and be just as accurate.
